Roshigoth Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Today I was burning audio CDs, just as I've done dozens of times before. Then when I went to play them, they were coming out with really low-quality sound. Kinda tinny with a lot of noise. Now, this is the first time I've tried burning CDs since I bought a new computer, so the only constant from before is the media type. I tried burning them at full speed, and at 24x, with the same result. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I 14:52:23 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 This can only be due to the directshow/acm filters your machine is using. Open one of the MP3's in GraphEdit and see which filters are being used.
Roshigoth Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 This can only be due to the directshow/acm filters your machine is using. Open one of the MP3's in GraphEdit and see which filters are being used. Well, I opened it in GraphEdit, but I'm not really familiar with Graphedit or how to make sense of the filters. Is there something specific in that program I should be looking for? It shows the mp3 file, an MPEG-I Stream Splitter, ffdShow Audio Decoder, and Default DirectSound Output. Sorry if I'm a little slow with this. I do appreciate the help.
eSkRo Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 i had a problem too on my PC regarding filters because, i installed FFDSHOW and it kinda messed up some stuff regarding burning audio CD's with ImgBurn,,, But lets make it clear, its not ImgBurn's fault here!! ImgBurn did its job correctly!! so because of FFDSHOW, i use this audio cd creator called --> burrrn just google it,,, its free....
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 You should be able to either remove ffdshow from your system (unless you specifically need it for something?) or just tell it not to decode mp3 files.
Roshigoth Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 You should be able to either remove ffdshow from your system (unless you specifically need it for something?) or just tell it not to decode mp3 files. Thank you! I do use ffdshow for other things, but I disabled it for mp3s. It solved my problem perfectly. Thanks again for the help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 If it's doing a rubbish job of decoding, feel free to mention that to whoever makes it... then maybe it'll get fixed Do you keep up-to-date with the various (daily?!) builds of it? This place normally has them available (I use it for MPC builds) http://www.xvidvideo.ru/
