Big_Evil_Undertaker Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 (edited) Hi.. My friend has a DVD burner Philips (PHILIPS DVD8701). She must erase blank DVD+RW and DVD-RW, but aslo if the media is inserted IMGBurn doesn't detect them and If she try to erase IMGBurn gives an error.. She try also to record on that DVD+RW and DVD-RW, but it reject them. With this error, is possible understand why that DVD+RW (Philips) and DVD-RW (TDK) aren't detected? Thanks... LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 The drive thinks it's empty - so it's the problem, not the program as such. I guess it doesn't like that media...maybe a firmware upate would fix it?
kevdriver Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Undertaker, If that burner came with a Dell computer it probabley is a rebadged Benq 1640. You may have to crossflash it with Benq 1640 firmware. Cd freaks forum has info on how to do this. Be careful though if you crossflash incorrectly you can cook the burner.
