oayz Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) When data is written to RW discs ImgBurn always does full erase even though disc is already formatted. No quick erase option. Process takes quite long (up 30 minutes). Just for comparison Nero doesn't need erase if RW is blank and can quick-erase RW in under 2 minutes. Thanks! Edited August 25, 2010 by oayz
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Mentioned several times before. ImgBurn defaults to wanting to work with properly formatted discs. If the drive returns a 'Formatted' status of anything other than 'Yes', ImgBurn will prompt to format it again. Once it's formatted properly, you won't need to do it again - unless another app messes it up again - and that's their problem. DVD+RW should be formatted once and then just overwritten. There's no need to keep formatting them (and leaving then in a formatted state of limbo as most apps do). You can adjust this behaviour in the settings if you so wish.
oayz Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks, found it (Prefer Properly Formatted Discs)
