Rincewind Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) Try at 4x, if that does not work try Verbatim DVD+R DL discs instead (disc ID MKM-003). I would say update the firmware to your drive too, but: http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GMA-4082N/files.html says no firmware available for your drive. -edit W 11:49:59 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 49600) W 11:50:43 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level. You seem to have DMA issues, make sure your drive has proper DMA settings, and also try to make sure you are not doing too many tasks at once, as this can drain too much resources from imgburn and your drive. LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 W 11:49:59 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 49600)W 11:50:43 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... Is that as far as your log ever gets? If so, surely the last line gives you a clue as to what the problem is... you're working your hdd(s) too hard. Stop using it(them) during the burn and maybe then you won't have buffering issues. If it's really slow all the time, maybe you have DMA issues. SP2 came out for Vista ages ago btw.
GloryHound Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 First off, thanks for replying so quickly. What's DMA? sorry i'm not familiar with terminology
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Direct Memory Access. For this, it's a way of speeding up communication with the drive. (i.e. speeds up reading and writing of data) If DMA isn't enabled, the system uses PIO and that's much slower. Google for 'Slow DMA' or similar and you'll see loads of threads about it.
