kckas
Hi, I am unable to burn pictures onto my Verbatim cd-r. I've tried using Roxio cd creator and it's not able to burn cds either. However it can still read cds just fine. I'm assuming I may need a new cd/dvd burner but I was hoping that maybe someone would help me here before I give up. TIA! Here is my log... LIGHTNING UK!
Try burning at 24x instead of Max. Is that drive in a Dell machine (or was it) ? If so, update the firmware to C109 http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-H73N/files.html

LIGHTNING UK!
Well, you could try some Taiyo Yuden CDs before buying a new drive but you might end up still needing one - still, at least the CDs wouldn't be wasted. External drives sometimes have 'semaphore timeout' issues. Personally, I'd stick with an internal (as yours is normal size and not slimline, when I'd then buy an external normal size!). There are lots of drive reviews on the internet if you Google for them. MyCE.com has quite a few (check their forum too). I'd probably go for the latest model Optiarc / LiteOn (B series hardware) or something.
