Thanks a lot for the advices!! I was wondering if it's really important to update the driver firmware? what would happen if I only update ImgBurn?

The burner would still use a generic write approach, as the current media code/discs you are using is not supported in the firmware. It might be supported in the latest one.

Well, I couldn't update the firmware for the Pioneer unit, I couldn't change it from slave to master. But, I updated the firmware of another unit and everything went fine. I just got this weird "write speed miscompare" message, but it recorded fine.

I have some other doubts about this cool program, but I'll make a new post for them.

Thanks to both of you for helping me :)

You can't force the drive to burn slower if the drive can't. (if that's what you want)

You won't get the message if you adapt the burn speed to one that is supported by the drive for that disc.

Look on the right side in Device tab at "Supported Write Speeds:"

You are absolutely right, I didn't notice that. Do you think that burning a movie at 4x in a double layer disc will make any difference compared to 2x burning?

Please post the latest burn log (you can find previous burn logs in ImgBurn's Help menu).

These are the speeds supported by your LG burner with that media, and since it worked fine with 4x then stick with that speed ;)

No matter the speed of burn as long as the disc is readable. (Verify OK)

The drive can burn that disc only at those speeds, no matter what you select.

You need a drive that can do quality scan (Lite-On) to actualy compare how good the burn is between speeds
