Panasonic Blu Ray Player won't play MKV files but plays fine on PC

Brought a new LG Blu Ray Burner model HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH12LS38 1.00-D2 to burn mkv files and I'm using TDK BD-Re 50 GB dual layer discs. It plays on my pc but doesn't play on my Panasonic DMR-BWT700GL, there are no files showing on the tv screen. I have burned Sony 25gb BD-RE using imgburn and that worked fine but it was a different burner, but because it was brought in 2006 it didn't work with 50gb discs so I brought this one.

What am I doing wrong here?

I applied the fireware and tried again to burn using the 50gb tdk bd-re disk but with no success on my blu ray player! It's just that I have brought 2 packs of these discs so I really need to use them, so is there any way I can use these discs using imgburn?

I cannot return these 50gb discs and was hoping that there would be a solution to this problem. Is there?

Use those 50 GB discs to burn standard BD video files on them.

Get some DVD-R/ DVD-R DL to burn the mkv files, that should work in your player. It's a limitation of your player, you can't do more than that.
