jagmv47 Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Brought a new LG Blu Ray Burner model HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH12LS38 1.00-D2 to burn mkv files and I'm using TDK BD-Re 50 GB dual layer discs. It plays on my pc but doesn't play on my Panasonic DMR-BWT700GL, there are no files showing on the tv screen. I have burned Sony 25gb BD-RE using imgburn and that worked fine but it was a different burner, but because it was brought in 2006 it didn't work with 50gb discs so I brought this one. What am I doing wrong here? hd movies watched no 1.log
ianymaty Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 According to Panasonic DMR-BWT700GL specifications it plays mkv files from DVD-R/ DVD-R DL. Try using DVD media not BD media. http://panasonic.com.au/Products/DVD+and+Blu-ray/Blu-ray+-+Players+and+Recorders/DMR-BWT700GL/Specification Also there is a new firmware release for that drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/BH12LS38/files.html
jagmv47 Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 I applied the fireware and tried again to burn using the 50gb tdk bd-re disk but with no success on my blu ray player! It's just that I have brought 2 packs of these discs so I really need to use them, so is there any way I can use these discs using imgburn? I 00:49:18 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! jagmv47 Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 I cannot return these 50gb discs and was hoping that there would be a solution to this problem. Is there?
Cynthia Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Buy a BD player that plays those files on a BD disc.

ianymaty Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Use those 50 GB discs to burn standard BD video files on them. Get some DVD-R/ DVD-R DL to burn the mkv files, that should work in your player. It's a limitation of your player, you can't do more than that.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 You could probably use MultiAVCHD to make a BD Video folder from those MKV files (with a nice menu), burn that in ImgBurn and have it work from your BD media.
