rgh43 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I get a notification "Oh No" operation failed. Notification says Close, Retry etc so I just close operation. Then I look at the drive and the disc is full so I try playback and it plays back ok, just started recently. Removed IMG and downloaded and reinstalled still did it? Note: Does not do it all the time?
rgh43 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Will do when it occurs again as I don't have any logs since I reinstalled it a day ago.

rgh43 Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Forgot to mention that I did insure that AnyDVD was closed on the second burn but still get the same audible message, "Oh no operation failed"
rgh43 Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Also i did just check the disc at various points but it looks OK, I did not run it from start to finish but I have the start of the movie along with various scenes and the end credits, as that is all I usually check.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Playing a disc doesn't necessarily cause the player to read every sector on the disc, verifying does. Playback often doesn't care about the odd unreadable sector either (it skips them), verifying does. If your drive keeps producing unreadable discs, either buy different disc that the drive does a better job of burning or try adjusting the write speed down to 8x.
rgh43 Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Today the first disc I tried failed but very quickly? I then again cleaned the ASUS burner/player and on the 2nd try it gave me the audible "Oh No" but when I look at the "E" Drive it says 0 bytes free of 4.35GB and it plays OK as I did view the entire movie. “The discs” are the same I have used for several months. Most often it doesn't produce an unreadable disc that does happen but not often. It just gives me that message it failed but it hasnt failed most times as I see a full disc and they play OK? I can tell by looking at the back of the disc that it looks full, usually when it fails it isn't in the burner very long. Should I try removing all aspects of the program and reloading it or any other ideas? Thanks for the help. //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 - Log ; Wednesday, 27 March 2013, 15:46:04 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 15:30:01 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! ianymaty Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 In the last session log it fails at to verify the disc that it just burned seconds ago. Seems to be a drive problem. Could be heat related. Try the disc in another drive/computer to make an image out of it.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Why are you still burning at MAX speed? I did say to try 8x in post #7
