roonwhit Posted May 2, 2013 Share Posted May 2, 2013 I have created a number of DVDs now with addtional pdf files in the root folder. I'm using DVDStyler to master the DVD - this produces a dvd-out folder with the required AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. I simply add the extra files to the dvd-out folder and then add the dvd-out folder to ImgBurn to create the ISO. This appears to work properly. Last term I created a set of two DVD's using exactly the same process, with the same audio and video codecs, similar numbers of files, etc. Some customers say that one DVD works in their DVD player and the other doesn't. I've tried remastering the DVD but with no success. I assume that ImgBurn puts the addtional files after the other folders, but wonder whether there is an ordering issue here, but I haven't been able to determine what the order of files is in the iso. In Peazip, I can't see the original order of files, only a sorted order. LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 2, 2013 Share Posted May 2, 2013 You can / should use something like IsoBuster to check the order of the files. That log just shows the creation of the image. I'd really need to see the log of the burn+verify process on the non-working disc. I have tested the Master copy on my own DVD player at home (LG DV528H) with no problems. The user reports that the DVD player reports No Disc or similar. I have repeated the iso / burn / copy process twice from scratch with the same effect for the same group of files. To rule out the additional files problem try this: Make a disc without the additional files and test it on problematic players. If all ok move forward. Make another disc in this way: add the VIDEO_TS folder to the session (you can ignore AUDIO_TS if you want, the program will make it from scratch anyway) than add the rest of the files. This way the additional files will be placed after the video files. Test it in the problematic players. If this brings no joy, try to put the additional files in a folder (Z_ADDITIONS) see if it works this way. BTW, set a higher speed, 1x isn't available. I have not yet been able to deliver the DVD to the customer, but I have been inspecting the ISO file using 7z. When I list the contents of the ISO, the output is always in alpha order, even though I added the VIDEO folder first (I see why you suggest adding a Z_... folder). It thus does not appear to make any difference which order the files/folders are added in ImgBurn. I wonder whether the command you are using to create the ISO file is sorting the files into alpha order before zipping them. Is there a different way of doing this to ensure the files are added to the iso in the order they are added to ImgBurn? Or can you change the code so that the VIDEO and AUDIO folders are always added first to ensure that hybrid disks have the correct format?
