Mark_1955
I have a new Pioneer Burner BDR-209bdk, and this following error occurs when erasing/formatting a new BD-RE disk. (The format disk Not Supported!) Is it needed? or is it a setting within imgburn. This error does not show up using LG bd burners... LIGHTNING UK!
They don't support the full format with certification. That's why it only takes 22 seconds and not an hour or more.
Mark_1955
Thanks for the answer. I didn't realize that when I bought the drive.... I'll probably stay with LG from now on...
dbminter
They don't support the full format with certification. That's why it only takes 22 seconds and not an hour or more. My Pioneer formats new BD-RE at about 45 minutes.
LIGHTNING UK!
That's probably due to the zeroing part (as also shown in the log above) done by the program and not due to the formatting part done by the drive.
dbminter
I'm still a bit confused. My Pioneer returns the same "warning" but a first format takes 45 minutes and not 20 seconds. Are you saying a certification support would increase the formatting time by an hour in addition to the 45 minutes it takes to first format a BD-RE in my Pioneer? LIGHTNING UK!
Yes, the total time would be 1.5 hours for a single layer BD-RE disc. That's 45 minutes of the drive formatting the disc properly with full certification and 45 minutes of ImgBurn zeroing the sectors.
