joshiedabossie Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 New user here, obviously. Trying to write a DVD and for some reason the videos I want to use are not supported. They are just MP4 or AVI files. Anybody know why?? Which file types are supported?
dbminter Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Depends on your definition of supported. Why do you say they're not supported? What sort of error message do you get?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 It sounds like you're attempting to use Write mode. Write mode is for burning disc images - ISO files and alike. What you've got are video files and not disc images. Use Build mode for burning regular files. Please note that no conversion of such files takes place. If you add an MP4 or avi file to the disc, you'll end up with an MP4 or avi file on the disc. The program won't make a DVD video compatible disc for you.
joshiedabossie Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Thank you for your help. Any advice on a program that can burn a DVD video compatible disc?
dbminter Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 ImgBurn can burn a DVD Video compatible disc but it cannot create the VIDEO_TS files from an MP4 or AVI necessary to make a DVD Video. I use ConvertXToDVD to create a VIDEO_TS. There are free apps, but the only one I ever tried took like 6 hours to make a half hour video. I then use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS ConvertXToDVD creates. All you need to do is drag and drop the VIDEO_TS in Build mode.
ianymaty Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 DVDFlick or DVDStyler should do the trick for free. On a decent computer should not take more than 30 min for convert a regular movie.
