spinningwheel
Pamela; I 02:43:14 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-E01-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x) Your choice of media is garbage, pure and simple. Buy some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus discs, which are what we recommend here, and try again. If this Matsushitsu drive is in an HP machine they have a newer firmware available also. Here Just so you know...RI4me is a ripping program and we don't assist with those.
pamela
Probabaly a silly question, but how do I find out what kind of disk drive I have... I have an HP Media Center but the drives were already installed...
LIGHTNING UK!
I 02:43:14 Destination Device: [0:0:0]HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4166B 1823 (E:) (ATA) That is your drive. It's an LG 4166B. Now we know your machine is indeed an HP one, go ahead and update the firmware on the drive using the link spinningwheel provided.
pamela
I went to the firmware page, and found LG 4166B.. .downloaded it, zipped files opened, all looked good, until I got the error message "Not detected Target Drive"... The drive still recognizes a disk inside.. did I mess something up????
LIGHTNING UK!
You just downloaded and tried to run this file yeah? ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software5/CO...8-1/sp26626.exe
pamela
I went to the firmware dictionary and entered LG 4166B and downloaded it from there. Should I use the link you provide above now or will that further complicate things...???
LIGHTNING UK!
Yes you should download the above file as that's the only one that will work with HP branded LG drives. You only have to download it and then double click it - it's an exe file.
pamela
Well, I guess I am just not meant to do this anymore. Been successful for 3 yrs, suddenly nothing working.... now imgburn asks me to select a file and not just rip the dvd.. .I'm just lost... :(
polopony
Pamela IMGburn does not rip anything its a burning only software , you would need files or folders on your hard drive for IB to create an ISO and then burn.Hang in there its just a learning curve we all go through
pamela
I am just confused I guess, because ripit4me opens DVD decrypter (actually IMGburn).. almost immediately... is that not supposed to happen? If so, maybe I have the imgburn settings wrong.. ohhh
polopony
we cant discuss anything related to ripping/copyright bypassing for legal reasons .Its what led to the end of Decrypter and legal problems for LUK. You dont have the settings wrong in IMGburn ,it works just fine on defaults.Like I said before IMGburn DOES NOT rip dvd's its a ISO burning software
