Up until a few weeks ago everything has been fine, however recently I've been having a few problems. I'm using the same media (Traxdata) as I always have, but the burn always stops at about 57%.

I've even tried Philips media with the same result, even a different drive, I get the same result, any ideas?

Use better disc's. Verb. What kind of speeds are you getting burning to single layer, if they are low then uninstall your ide controller as per FAQ .

1ST get some verbatim + dual layers if it still does it then your problem is with drive or drivers, DMA etc

I would definitely get Verbatim DVD+R DL's - I know you have been using this media ok up until now but this kind of failure is something we see in the forum with lower quality media. In many ways you are lucky to have had any run of successful burns :)

Thing is I've burned more than 30 Traxdata disks without any problem, I only encountered problems after I installed the IMGBurn update. I've reset my drivers, still no luck, I've even tried a different DVD Writer.

You don't have to believe us but I would bet a fair bit of money on it being the discs. We see all sorts of problems with DL burns when they are not Verbatims, look through the forum and you will see that most go away when using the Verbs.

It's not that I don't believe you mate, just that I've had alot of successful burns with various media. I've uninstalled 2.2, re-installed 2.1 and it worked perfectly, twice, no errors, so I'll stick to what I know works, cheers for your help.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I can translate that

FFS another one.

It had nothing to do with going back to previous version of ImgBurn (it's still same code) unless very slim chance here that if say you used system restore and whatever was the real reason for your errors was elimated by system restore.

But the main reason was (is) the inconsistency of the media your using.

Take it from us....change your media to Verbatim DataLifePlus or Taiyo Yuden brands, if that still fails then we can go further.

Because you acheived a few good burns on bad media is great, if the media doesn't loose the burn in a few months. We test all brands f MID and burners and only recommend what works.
