CTBC Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 When I first write an image to a Verbatim 2.4x dl disk I get no errors, everything OK. When I immediately try to write another image to a Verbatim 2.4x dl disk, I get the above error. I think it is down to the DVD writer as when I wait a couple of hours everything seems OK. Do you think this is normal or is my DVD writer on its way out?
CTBC Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Could you suggest a make and model to replace my existing model?
spinningwheel Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Take a look at our drives and media section, there is a lot of info there about how different drives perform. I like Plextor and BenQ myself.
CTBC Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 Nobody likes sony then! Guess it is my writer that is causing me problems.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Sony don't really make drives, they just rebadge them. You're better off buying them from the original manufacturer.
CTBC Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 (edited) Thanks for replies and help. I have visited the "drives and media section" but i'm now even more confused after reading reviews on most of the drives used in that section! I am after a reliable writer for approx Edited June 12, 2007 by CTBC

CTBC Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 I have just burned a dvd+r dl disk with an image with my new drive with success. "So what" I hear you cry. It was burned onto a "mirror" dvd+r dl disk which came in a pack of ten of which nine were coasters using my sony burner. Moral of the story seems to be if you begin to get unusual errors with drives and disks that were working ok previously, try another drive! [Pack of 25 Verbatim
