Can't read the DVDs after burn

Hey,

I'we got a big problem.

After burning a DVD, it won't pass the verification.

Here's my error message:

 

I/O Error!

 

Device: [0:0:0] SONY DVD RW AW-G170A 1.73 (I:) (ATA)

Interpretation: Check Condition

Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 0

Interpretation: Illegal Mode For This Track

 

When I try to open the DVD afterwards, It's empty...

I have tried burning ISOs and VIDEO_TS folders with no luck.

 

Any help apreatiated...

Please post a copy of the log.

 

Generally speaking, this kind of problem just means the drive is producing bad burns on the media.

 

To fix problems:

 

1. Update the firmware on the drive.

2. Slow the burn down to half the rated speed of the media.

3. Only use *decent* discs! We recommend Verbatim (MCC dye) and Taiyo Yuden.

4. Get a different drive.

I've had this problem as well using 2 different types of discs that I've never had problems with before. Also tried 2 different drives. Happened after I upgraded to v2.3.2 from 2.1.

 

Now have a new error msg to do with FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME and the discs verify ok but still can't read them... But that's in a different thread http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4675 (started a new thread before I found this one sorry...)

Another reason to use quality media, you are seeing the effects of inconsistent cheap media.
