dontasciime Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 your friend must have been using dual layer media and your using single, you cannot fit 8 gig on a 4.37 gig disc
ggk Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 he is not. it is just a copy of halo 2 and i only need the fist half of the disc. and it usually works. i dont know what the error means.

ggk Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 it is a raw dump of halo 2 so i can mess around in custom games
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 i only need the fist half of the disc Your friend must have been using DVD+R media.

ggk Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 yeah dl media is expensive and i dont need the rest of the data
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 When burning to DVD-R media the program sends a command to the drive telling it how much it's going to burn - that's what's bombing out here, simply because it knows the number is too big. It doesn't send it for DVD+R (it's not required), hence no issue. It'll error out at the end of the burn instead. So long as it's book typed to DVDROM I don't see any issue with using DVD+R over DVD-R. After all, DVD+R DL works ok - right?
ggk Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 (edited) so i should get soe dvd+r's instead of -r's? if you say i should ill go pick up some the actual error is it says failed to reserve track is that what u guy think is wrong the media type? Edited August 19, 2007 by ggk
