WaitImmediateIO Error

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to burn several files using 'Build' mode on TY DVD+R. Burner is Samsung SH-203B. Everything works fine until the very end – ImgBurn shows 99% Finalize on the bottom and then error message "WaitImmediateIO Error - Program Memory Area Update Failure". I press "retry" – ImgBurn does finalizing again and then goes on to verify. Then I get a message "Operation Successfully Completed!" Looks fine so far but… my stand alone player and DVD-Rom on another computer are unable to read the disk. Both my DVD Burners can read the disk fine but Benq shows some junk in disk info:

Samsung reads disk info fine but shows DVD+R as book type:

Looks like ImgBurn fails to book type the disk (Auto change book type was checked)... Here is the log:

The same error happened to me about a week ago - I tried to burn few files 3 times in row with the same result. Actually one time I pressed "cancel" instead of "retry" but result was still the same. So I end up burning with nero on Benq and everything worked fine. Any ideas?

Dodgy disc's bad batch maybe

You updated the firmware on the drive recently ? or did it come with SB01.

Maybe check IDE cable is secure or replace with 80 if on 40 or just try replacing IDE cable. check 4 pin power whilst there.

Are you using a 3rd party IDE controller ? If so see if there are any driver updates.

Maybe check the other software you have installed like Incd or anything similar.

post the filter driver load order from tools menu.

Strange error for DAO mode where pma is not supposed to be touched

[edit] what size Psu have you got in that machine and have you got another machine you could try that writer in ?

Burn them at their rated speed as well.

I updated firmware the minute I installed it - it came with SB00. The drive is SATA and cable should be fine - it was attached to HDD for a few months. SATA port is on motherboard. No software other than Nero and ImgBurn. PSU is 550W Antec. Motherboard is nForce 3 Pro.

Here is filter driver load order:

The booktype stuff often fails when one of the close track/session/disc commands fails.

This is more the drive's fault than ImgBurns - I simply tell the drive to do before the burn and it should then remember that it needs to when it gets to the end of the burn. It's not an actual function that ImgBurn has to perform.

try removing the padus one pfc.sys

then look in registry for key below and delete it

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

then reboot

Maybe see if there is update to the sata drivers for nf3 or maybe just use the standard MS ones instead.

I'm not sure if I'm having the exact same problem as the OP, but it's similiar. I had TONS of problems trying to burn(using Nero + ImgBurn)) with my SONY DRU-710 DVD+/-R, RW, DL drive until finally today I decided I was going to update the firmware so I did. Then I was having trouble uninstalling the drive because all of the failures had locked me out of DMA so finally I fixed that. I tried to burn my first DVD using VIDEO_TS files and it worked on the very first try with ImgBurn and Memorex DVD-R at Auto detect speeds. Then I tried to burn the same files for another copy and I get this error message every subsequent time I try to burn anything. I've gone through about 5 DVD's so far and I don't want to throw away anymore money. Here is a screen cap:

6gsw75f.jpg

It seems it happens every time during the Synchronising Cache Phase but seems to burn 100% and finish the file-but if I hit retry or cancel, it doesn't work in my Xbox360 like the first and only successful burn of the same file.

System Specs:

Windows XP/SP2

Pentium 4 @ 3.4 ghz

2GB DDR2

ATI Radeon X800XT

Audigy 2 ZS

Ok, firstly the Guides section of this forum covers what the 'AUTO' speed is.

It's not Auto in the sense that you think it is, YOU need to configure it first or all your discs / drives will burn at full speed - and that's NOT a good thing.

You got a power calibration error at the start of that burn - that's not good either!

Without seeing the complete log I can only assume you're using cheapo media.

Get yourself some Verbatim (MCC dye) or Taiyo Yuden discs and then try burning with those instead.
