Please somebody post back to give me some kinda advice...Also, my other burner is RICOH DVD+RW MP5240A 1.11 (ATA), but for some reason im not able to update the firmware ( the updated verse is 1.19, while i have 1.11 firmware )...both burners are kinda old but i can't get the firmware update to work for richoh burner ?? The drive not recognising the discs is probably half the problem.

If it doesn't support them properly then there's a VERY good chance of getting a bad burn - which is exactly what's happening here.
