LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2396 Try updating to the GA05 firmware. http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers...le.asp?id=20547 Direct Link: ftp://ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_suppor...irmwareGA05.exe Try getting some Verbatim/Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R (TYG02) media or perhaps some Verbatim 8x DVD+R (MCC-003) discs.
eve Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Thank you. I updated the firmware as suggested and the burn completed ok ! The problem now is that the disc won't play in my DVD player...it just says... Reading..... Reading.... Reading....... And that's all I get. I am using Verbatim DVD-R 4.7Gb 16x discs. Are my files no good ? I created them using FAVC. This is so frustrating. Help. -Eve Here is the log from the last burn : I 17:22:16 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 You should burn with 'Verify' enabled so the program can check everything matches up. After that, test the burnt disc in the PC. Does it play? If so and it still doesn't work in your standalone, try another standalone (or games console?).
eve Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Ok, burned another one with Verify on, and everything went fine. It still won't play in my standalone Panasonic DVD player. However, it plays fine on my pc. I don't have another standalone to try it on. I was under the impression that DVD-R should play on most DVD players(???) Is there a better type of media for that ? Would it be better to burn from a .ISO file rather than all those VOB, IFO, etc files ? Thanks for your patience in answering my noob questions. ( -Eve
