yes when 2 newer burners won't work, chances are your system has issues

but I made 3 suggestions and all three are no brainers

don't waste any more disks until they are corrected

if you do everything wrong, nothing works

a few things can be wrong and some things work, sort of

I prefer to not play the odds myself

i have posted the filter driver order is this ok

i only have the 112 on one new 80 wire cable

as for the standard ide chipset controller and default xp sp2 driver can u help with this

will formatting hard drive and reinstalling windows make a difference

not necessarily

if you were to reload the same drivers and programs(fliters) you might end up back to the same place sooner or later

try removing those extra filters(redbook and imapi are safe)

look in device manager for the controller driver, post chipset and version

did you connect the burner as standalone master?

Posted

if i got a lite-on dl dvdrom would i have the same problem

ive removed redbook and imapi are safe

its on standalone master

look in device manager for the controller driver, post chipset and version how do i find this out

Posted
redbook and imapi are safe

safe meant/means, those were the ones you could leave

windows comes with a good help and support

google is your friend

many of these suggestions require a basic understanding of computers and windows, how they work etc.

burning dvd's is one of the more advanced computer skills

you need to do a little more reading, do you have anyone that can help you with these basics?

dma 4 sounds good

what is your computer? make/brand? model number?

before i loaded the ide drivers from asus disk in device manager the ide controller had 3 primary controllers 3 secondary controllers and 2 parallel controllers when i deleted them and rebooted they all came back

where do i get the standard ms xp sp2 driver from

Posted

I used the drivers on the windows cd for my ide, not asus or via ones

via 4 in 1 is something I have stayed away from

you might try the rollback option

a clean install of xp sp2 is always a good idea, but you have to remember to only load the drivers needed from device manager

sound and lan are fine from the old cd, or the web?

Anything else may be a headache

My mobo(same as yours) and bios were real picky about the ram settings and I had to set them to match the spd manually to get the computer to run stabily, once I got it working, it ran overclocked and fine for 2 years without hardly a glitch.

You haven't worn that pioneer 112 out already have you?

only burned 3 dl disks from new that worked then after that stopped working with all dl media

works fine with normal dvds eg films

would you burn a decent single layer disk at max and verify and post the log?

about out of ideas

you are using the primary ide connector(blue) up next to ram slots and a new cable with blue end in the motherboard and the drive jumpered master at the end of the cable?

Posted

I maybe misreading all this but It seems you could not burn DL due to poor media, you then managed to burn 1 Verbatim without error, then you switched back to using crappy media and got errors.

I stand corrected 2 verbatim 1 worked 100% the other bombed out on you apparently.

Buy yourself a new computer or get someone in and pay them to sort it out.
