matija Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Hello, sorry i am a newbie at this burning stuff, but i was trying to burn an iso image, and then when i start that little buffer bar fills and when its full everything just stops and i get to rewrite attempt 1,2 or 3 or 4 and my write speed is some where at 150 and then keeps going down and at the bottom is says writing lead-in.... and it gets stuck here, i dont know if it is my drive, or my iso image if someone can please help thenk you.

Only use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

BoSox2882 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 The Pioneer DVR-112D is a pretty highly regarded DVD burner by many. The one you have (DVR-115D) is one of the new drives from Pioneer and looks to be a pretty solid drive.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 The error is a USB problem, the firmware just makes the burns better Did you buy the drive as a retail external model? Maybe you can update the bios on the enclosure... that could fix it.
matija Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 oh i see well i bought the internal one but i bought a case for it because my dad wants to use it on his laptop too, but at the time i didn't know that it affects it, but ill get an internal one if that will solve it.

matija Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 alright, well i bought new cd's (verbatim DVD+RW), and for a second i got my hopes up, and it even showed me the estimated time, but then it just failed again, guess im going to try to do it internally, will this probably be the problem or is it just a slight chance this will be it?
cornholio7 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 semaphore time out is an error often seen with usb burners, usually something to do with ali chipsets in the usb enclosure, so moving the drive internal should stop that error

LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If you take the external case apart, can you locate the main chip on the little circuit board? Try and read the number off it. Is there a web link to the product you purchased? (even that might help a little!)
dontasciime Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 You would think by now the ide / 2 / usb chipset manufacturers would be able to resolve this, does not help when they do not include a flash to go with the chipset. If you have to keep it in the enclosure, try using Wnaspi32 as the I/O as a last resort My Pio 111,112,115 hate the PL-3507 chipset but is OK using the PL-2507
