dontasciime Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Thats certainly a mess. Remove them all and then use latest wnaspi32 from nero page ftp://ftp6.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll maybe get ccleaner and let it fix registry issues as well
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Read the FAQ, it tells you how to make Adaptec ASPI work. You just have to import a registry file that manipulates 1 key. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=968 I doubt the Nero ASPI will be of any use to you on a 9x based OS - or at least not just the DLL, you'd need their proper ASPI package.
dontasciime Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I just dropped the latest wnaspi32 that I could find on nero ftp into Imgburn folder but I do have apix.vxd installed I 11:12:16 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.8 Beta started! I 11:12:16 Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition I 11:12:16 Total Physical Memory: 523,704 KB - Available: 266,236 KB W 11:12:16 Drive C:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. W 11:12:16 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. W 11:12:16 Drive E:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 11:12:16 Initialising ASPI... I 11:12:16 WNASPI32.DLL - Nero WnAspi32 - Win32 Nero Aspi Library - Version 2.0.1.74 I 11:12:16 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 11:12:17 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD-RW! extract the rar and place apix.vxd in c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\APIX.VXD apix.rar you should be then able to drop the wnaspi32 into ImgBurn folder and have it work. NeroApix.rar you may also be able to just drop NeroApix.vxd and wnaspi32 into ImgBurn folder Or import the reg file in the FAQ as advised above
VANMILKSHAKE Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 thank you for your responses I'll try some of these suggestions and will get back here :>]
VANMILKSHAKE Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 thank you IMGBURN sees my burner now reinstalled the old version of ADAPTEC ASPI VER 4.6 I' checked to make sure all files were present Windows ME:
dontasciime Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 since I' don't have a *.rar file extract program www.rarlabs.com
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 The... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\APIX] "ExcludeMiniports"="" line is what the reg file in the FAQ adds.
