mmalves Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 The option you're looking for is in Tools -> Settings -> Events tab -> Check for Program Update option. But please do install the latest ImgBurn because, even though it "looks" like the same, it has a lot of corrections and new features
LOCOENG Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Just curious why you wouldn't want to know when a new version is available...it's not like there is a new release every couple of weeks like some other programs.
gnar34 Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) there is no tools setting on mine nevermind and i dont want the updated cuz it works fine the way it is and yes i must be a idiot for asking a ? in these forums i guess i use 1.2.2.1 Edited September 17, 2008 by gnar34
cornholio7 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 this is not the support forum for dvd flick
lfcrule1972 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Are you talking about DVDflick - as per the picture you posted ? If so that is nothing to do with ImgBurn nor are it's updates..... The ImgBurn check for new version only comes up at the start when you open the program, it doesn't in my experience ever prevent a burn from finishing..... Haven't used DVDFlick so don't know it that does what you describe....

LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Update DVD Flick and then you'll be using 2.4.2.0 anyway.
Guzeppi Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) First of all like LIGHTINING UK! said, update DVDFlick, your version is over a year old. And second if you insist in using old software then do the following: run Imgburn alone by clicking start, clicking run, typing (or copy and paste) "C:\Program Files\DVD Flick\imgburn\imgburn.exe" in the dialogue box and click OK. In Imgburn click tools, click events anbd change "check for program updates" to "never" There, you have it all now. Edited September 17, 2008 by Guzeppi
gnar34 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 thanks Guzeppi and when i clicked help on dvd flick i brought me here.aand at final burn mine shows this pic here the same
lfcrule1972 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 DVDflick help comes here ??? What a f'in liberty !!!
Guzeppi Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 DVDflick help comes here ??? What a f'in liberty !!! No it doesn't... And there isn't a help to click in DVDFlick except when running ImgBurn (and then its the latter's help), but who can understand what he meant?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 So people just look for the 'Help' option regardless of which program it's in? I suppose if you don't know any better then ImgBurn could appear to just be part of DVD Flick.
Guzeppi Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) So people just look for the 'Help' option regardless of which program it's in? I suppose if you don't know any better then ImgBurn could appear to just be part of DVD Flick. I suppose so yes, but you really have to not know any better, because the way it works its pretty obvious that ImgBurn is a separate program that kicks in when burning to DVD is set (not on by default). It opens in its own separate window and retains control until its finished or the user intervenes. But I guess you're right, some might not even want to think that there could be a suite of programs working (ffmpeg, pulldown, tmplex, spumux, dvdauthor etc) one after another, behind a common GUI, instead of having to run them separately and having to learn how each works (some of which are CLI). But ImgBurn has its own interface, so its hard to mistake it for anything else. Nonetheless, as we just saw above, a few do unfortunately, despite the splashscreen and different GUI.
