you probably can't write at 1x .I havent seen 1x support for media or drives since dvd burning first started .Theres nothing wrong with writing at 4x all the stuff I've burned at 4x in the past plays fine just use quality media .By todays standards 4x is slow although I burn everything at 6x these days :thumbup:

does the media or the drive support 1x?

I'm using TDK 8x media with an Pioneer 107. I havew burnt at 1x before with the media and burner. It's just now decided to burn everything at 4x.

I've burnt at 4x and sometimes the DVD has pixcellation and freezes. If it's burnt at 1x, this does not happen.
