The BenQ certainly does altho I think the NEC4550 requires hacked fw.....

On the subject of MODIFIED firmware, write strategies are the same with initial releases,

later tweaks often introduce some overspeeding and cleanup.

Like LFC said, the BenQ 1655 will stay set as rom if you do it in Qtools, however my Plex 716 needs to be set each re-start. Can't find an option in Plextools unfortunately.

My Plextor 716 seems to stay set on DVDROM ok after a reboot.

Are you sure another tool isn't just resetting it?

I have PlexTools installed on my PC but I never use it - nor do I have it loading at startup.

Maybe that's the problem, after I downloaded the latest Plextools it defaulted back to autostarting, and I haven't taken the time to disable it yet, I just turn it off.

Is there any chance that you can add the ability to have the program remember the last booktype setting? That way each time we burn a +R disc with ImgBurn on drives such as the LG it would automatically set it to DVD-ROM. Nero has a setting like this and I was just wondering it would be possible in ImgBurn.

Sorry, I don't like to make my program work on a drive by drive basis, it makes updating it for new models a right pain in the arse.

You can get a little CLI tool that does this whenever your PC boots up.

You should be able to find it on cdfreaks forum - in the LG subforum probably.
