Burned DVD not recognized by DVD player

I'm stumped. I've read almost everything on this website and still having problems. I'm burning DVD video files directly to single layer media. I followed every step of this guide: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632. I used Verbatim DVD+R media. I burned at a slower speed than maximum. The procedure, including verification, concluded successfully without error. The burned DVD plays fine in my computer DVD player. The disc is NOT recognized by my Panasonic DVD-RV32 player. You can see from the log below that the book type is DVD-ROM "I 19:28:50 Source Media Type: DVD+R (Book Type: DVD-ROM) (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x, 18x)". I have a DVD+R burned disc from a friend that IS recognized fine by the Panasonic player. What am I missing?

I 19:07:08 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!

I 19:07:08 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

I 19:07:08 Total Physical Memory: 523,808 KB - Available: 235,224 KB

I 19:07:08 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 19:07:08 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD

What dye is used on the disc that does work?

Does the player give an error message when it tries to read the disc you burnt there?

Have you tried burning at 8x or 12x? Slower isn't always better.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Have any +R disc's worked on the Panasonic DVD-RV32 player? according to panasonic's manual , this player does not support the +R format.

DVD-Video, DVD-R (R4.7), CD-Audio (CD-DA), Video-CD, CD-R/CD-RW (CD-DA, Video-CD

formatted discs)

* It may not be able to play some CD-R/RW due to the condition of the recording.

panasonic players are notoriously picky with what brands of media they will play. I had 2 panny's that would not play

-R verbatim's with the MCC dye !.
