DJ Matt Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I never have had a problem burning dual layer DVD's up until the past couple of weeks. I have been using Memorex DVD+R DL discs. Of course, Verbatim discs are the best, but I have never had a problem with Memorex before. It seems like my burners fail at 50% every time with ImgBurn. I used Nero as well and the disc burned 100%, but it still says it was a failed burn. Here is an image of the error I am having. I have posted a log below as well. Any help would be appreciated. LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Where's the ImgBurn log?! Post ImgBurn logs on the ImgBurn forum please, keep your Nero ones for their own support team. So anyway.... 5:00:39 AM #31 SPTI -1135 File SCSIPassThrough.cpp, Line 215CdRom0: SCSIStatus(x02) WinError(0) NeroError(-1135) CDB Data: 0x2A 00 00 1F DF 60 00 00 20 00 00 00 Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR) Sense Code: 0x0C Sense Qual: 0x00 Sense Area: 0x70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 0C Buffer x0b8b6c00: Len x10000 0xCC B7 D3 EB 6C 13 4A 7D BD 0F 8C 80 7A 9A 7C F2 0xFC 24 FB DB 88 24 31 A8 30 D8 9C 5D 61 76 86 51 0xA7 83 C7 A5 7D 47 67 B7 51 1E 44 59 CE C0 C2 54 5:00:39 AM #32 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 306 Write error D: _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A 5:00:40 AM #34 Text 0 File DVDPlusRW.cpp, Line 943 EndDAO: Last written address 2088800 Your drive bombed out with a 'Write Error' That happened at sector 2088800 which is about 50% on the disc I expect... exactly the same place you said ImgBurn reported an error. So basically, give up with the memorex discs and buy Verbatims. Once you've done that, if they still fail, try cleaning your drive. If it STILL doesn't work, buy a new drive.
DJ Matt Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 I guess I will try the Verbatim discs then. I just never have had a problem with Memorex before. Maybe its just a bad batch of discs. I can burn single layer discs fine. I burned one the other day and it was Sony DVD+R disc. I failed to mention one other thing. I was by my laptop when it hit 50% for the writing process. At that time the burner made a funny noise. It sounded like the disc was shifting in a rough way. Either that or it was the laser.
blutach Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 When Ner0 start paying us to help with THEIR crappy problems, we'll help. Geez! Regards
spinningwheel Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I guess I will try the Verbatim discs then. Wise choice...
