spinning image?

Hey folks,

I've looked through the FAQ, did some searching, and did some random sifting, but I did not notice any reference to the issue I'm seeing -

After successfully burning a movie, I tested it successfully on my PC.

I then went to test it on my DVD player, a Pioneer XV-HTV520 receiver. Here, it played the disc - the audio was fine, but the image was snowy, and cycling vertically, spinning upward. My other burnt DVD's were made using DVD Flick, and have played fine. This is my first DVD made using ImgBurn.

Since this is the first time I've seen it behave this way, this is where I'm starting my inquiry(having failed at searching for an answer quietly). I apologize if this turns out not to be software related, or is actually covered somewhere and I've missed it.

Thanks for reading, and thank you for your input.

Miles

ImgBurn burns what you give it, in the format that you give it.

i.e. it doesn't change/convert anything. If there's a problem with playback then your source files are to blame (or the drive can't read the disc because you're using cheapo media and got a bad burn).

DVD Flick uses ImgBurn for its burning anyway so just stick to using that for the conversion part.

My PC reads it entirely correctly, and the dvd player does not have any error messages. It plays nearly correctly, except the image simply spins and snows.

I'm inexperienced with this topic, but I'd have thought that if the player were having trouble reading the physical media, the player would simply spit it out, or halt playback.

I am mistaken? This specific symptom is common for bad physical media?

When you convert using DVDFlick,

make sure you set the correct region option...

PAL or NTSC....

when your watching a PAL movie on a NTSC tv or vice versa, the image will indeed spin....

also for the snowee effect, well, all depends from the quality of the source....

if your source is shit, your conversion will be shit....

but since ive done 1000 of successfull conversions up to this day,

i really really suggest you use CONVERTXTODVD....

It never let me down...

Some do nothing, some spit it out, some stutter and some halt.

'spinning image' means nothing to me at all. I can't imagine what you're seeing, and to be honest, I don't need to! I know this issue is nothing to do with my program.

Arritey, I'll keep looking. I simply didn't know where to look.

FYI, by spinning image, I mean that the image cycles upwards. Like in the olden days when people'd fiddle with TV antennae to stabilize the TV's image. Haven't seen that symptom in a long time, so it really took me by surprise.

Thanks again for your input!

Then I'll bet that's my problem, wrong region format or whatever it is. I'll give it a shot.

Thank you, eSkRo!
