telex
I want to burn a BDMV + CERTIFICATE Folder to a BD-RE 25 Gbyte. The Files are (25.819.683.740 Bytes) (24 Gbyte) big. Now I get a message: (see picture) Can I burn Or do I destroy BD or BluRay Recorder?
LIGHTNING UK!
I doubt anyone has ever tried overburning a BD-R, personally I wouldn't risk it.
telex
do I destroy the disk or the Recorder with overburning? I have started the burning but then interrupted after 10 seconds.. I doubt anyone has ever tried overburning a BD-R, personally I wouldn't risk it.
LIGHTNING UK!
It won't destroy anything, it'll just error out - either at the start or at the end.

LIGHTNING UK!
Yes, but obviously if it fails at the end you've wasted the time it's taken to burn + the cost of the disc.
telex
cost of the disc? Its a rewritable! The errormessage came at the end Yes, but obviously if it fails at the end you've wasted the time it's taken to burn + the cost of the disc. LIGHTNING UK!
Ah sorry, I missed/misread that and thought it was a BD-R
volvofl10
If rewritable BD-RE discs are like normal DVD-RW's then it may have less space on it than a normal BD-R , due to the way RW works. We've seen with DVD-RW that some projects wont fit on the disc, as so much space on the disc is used by the way the rewritable part is formatted. but this only goes back to what LUK said. if you use a BD-R which the project will 'probably' fit on , if it does overburn you may waste a disc in trying
LIGHTNING UK!
Actually, if you formatted that BD-RE without spare areas it would probably fit. EDIT: Damn, no it wouldn't Format Capacities:DT: 0x02 - NB: 12219392 (0x00BA7400) - TDP: 0 FT: 0x00 - NB: 11826176 (0x00B47400) - TDP: 12288 FT: 0x30 - NB: 11826176 (0x00B47400) - TDP: 12288 FT: 0x30 - NB: 11564032 (0x00B07400) - TDP: 20480 FT: 0x30 - NB: 12088320 (0x00B87400) - TDP: 4096 FT: 0x31 - NB: 12219392 (0x00BA7400) - TDP: 2048 Close but no cigar.
