  1. I'd also be looking at something interfering with the read of that file (be it antivirus or HDD on it's last legs), as the lines below indicate issues with being able to read enough of the files in fast enough to keep the memory buffers full... The question then is would ImgBurn give the "Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level" warning if the issue was to do with trying to do re-reads, or is that soely triggered by excessing disk activity/thrashing... if the latter, something else is/was running amok on your system. If the former, you'll want to ran chkdsk from the command line with the "/B" (for bad sector check) and "/R" (for repair) flags, and be prepared to be without the computer for a couple of hours, as since it's the C: drive you need to scan, Windows will need to reboot and run the chkdsk as part of pre-boot so no other software can interfere. 2. You could probably mount the NRG files using Daemon Tools, and then using ImgBurn to create a CUE+BIN file in order to save the multi-session data. You would also be able to mount the bin files using daemon tools at a later time if you needed to mount them virtually. Pretty much the only tools that completely works with NRGs is Nero - most other (non-propriety) tools work with ISOs (single track data) and CUE+BIN (raw/multi-track/audio cd) files.
  3. Sounds like what you'd want is ImgBurn's Disc Layout Editor... 1. Start Imgburn 2. Change to Build Mode (Mode -> Build) 3. Half-way down on the left side of the ImgBurn window, below the Test Mode checkbox, click on the left icon (Switch to advanced input) 4. A big button 'Show Disc Layout Editor' will replace the file list, and when clicked, will give you a Windows Explorer like interface to drag 'n' drop and otherwise manipulate your project. You'll be able to delete, move, rename files, etc. -Peter
  4. Love the new ImgBurn v2.5 - the disc layout editor is simple and just works! Now all I need is multisession support and I can get finally get rid of CDBurnerXPPro and use Imgburn for all my CD/DVD needs... :hint: :hint:
  5. Not to start a slanging match, but that statement is inherently wrong. You are not even considering the fact that not all computers can boot from USB drives, and therefore multisession boot CDs like Puppy Linux are still very essential. On the topic of multisession discs, there are very useful when making incremental backups, so you don't need to waste discs unnecessarily. I am currently considering using multisession recording for Xvid files I am creating from TV recordings, and want to add each weeks recording to the disc until the disc is full, and then close it. It just seems daft to a) keep all the files on HDD until the disc is full or keep copying the files from the disc to the HDD each week, adding that weeks file to the set and burning it all back to disc (also meaning I would have to be using DVD-RW). I just don't have the disc space at the moment to be keep the files on HDD all the time - I'm working with up to 20GB of video footage a day - and that's just raw - never mind editing/trimming & converting! Anyway, that's just my opinion... doesn't mean I'm write or wrong... or that anyone else is either!
  6. Thanks LUK, look like I'll have to hunt down whatever is making that dialog go in front of the current window. I just got really annoying when playing Warcraft or NFS and then Imgburn bought the game out of full screen mode just to say the burn was successful!
  7. Whenever I have imgburn writing a disc, and I am running something else, the 'Operation Successfully Completed' message pops up ontop of what ever I'm running (speak of the devil - it just poped up then!). This becomes a nusiance when running full screen-apps (games/movies) and then imgburn suddenly pops up the success message, taking the app currenlty running out of full-screen mode. Is there an option to stop this behaviour that I've missed? It would be ok if the dialog still appeared, just not becoming the currently focused item. It would also be nice if there was an option to not show the dialog at all - all these sucess messages can get annoying Just noticed that when Imgburn is minimised to the system tray, it displays a balloon tip from the tray instead of the operation successful dialog - have to see if this works. EDIT: Ok, it seems I lied, that dratted dialog poped up again, I just didn't see it. Is there really a need to be told twice that the burn was successful? Running Imgburn v2.1 on Windows XP SP2 (Home) regards, Peter
  8. Thanks polo, I must have used the wrong keywords, as I couldn't find anything in a quick search using google. I have this strange aversion to the .NET framework (all versions), and so may have to write something to do this myself. Time will tell (and so will life, as it has a strange habit of getting in the way )
  9. Not kidding! I've got SATA drives that run at 30x easily, and the IDE drives aren't slow either!
  10. Anyone know the name of that shell extension? regards, Peter
  11. @Travman, I've mention this before at http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2055, but you want to add or change the following registry key to make nero report the real (live) burn speed. This worked for versions 5 and 6, but I don't know if it still does for v7 (but its worth trying if your running v7). [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder] "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001 Nero_Live_CD_Burning_Speed.reg.txt
  12. Don't know if this still works for v7, but adding/changing the following (and attached) registry key makes nero 6 display the real (current) burn speed. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder] "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001 Nero_Live_CD_Burning_Speed.reg.txt
  13. gee, Lightning UK!, your telepathic abilities are getting better You'd implemented that feature before it was requested!! regards, Peter
  14. If you haven't saved the log file after the burn buy clicking on the File -> Save Command of the Imgburn Log window, you'll have to risk another burn to show us the log. If you can't see the log window, click on the View -> Log option. regards, Peter
