Then has been erased in ISO9600 format. Now it becomes non writable! I don't understand what went wong. I try to earse it (Write file to disk, Tools, Drives , Erase Disc, Quick) but ImgBurn gives I/O error: ScsiStats: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition ... dbminter Posted October 12, 2011 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Have you used these discs before? Or is this your first time trying to use them? I'd blame it on the quality of the discs themselves. Princo is a notoriously cheap brand of media manufacturer. I once purchased a DVD from Amazon.com that turned to be a DVD-R that was made by Princo. I made sure to make a backup copy on a good quality DVD-R right away. Put one of these CD-RW's from Princo into a DVD burner drive and open ImgBurn in Write mode. From the pane of information on the right side, what is listed under Disc ID under the line that says Physical Format Information? Looks like LUK answered while I was typing. Is it possible that old discs definition are no longer support and not included in the program database? teensee2k Posted October 17, 2011 Author Share Posted October 17, 2011 "They might not be included in the drive's firmware" Normally when we buy a DVDRW, if the DVDRW specifications includes CD-RW, we should be able to use any CD-RW disc. Am I right? I understand that bad quality discs causing I/O errors and waste. Does it mean that I have to find the correct drive's firmware that has the Princo CD-RW disc type? How can I verify that? LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 17, 2011 Share Posted October 17, 2011 I'm afraid it's not as simple as 'if it supports one it supports them all'. Every disc has a media code and the media code needs to be supported in the firmware - otherwise it'll either fall back to a generic method of burning (potentially doing a bad job) or just refuse to burn at all. 'MediaCodeSpeedEdit' can examine certain firmware dumps and give you a list of the supported MIDs. It may or may not support the 2.00-09 firmware for the GH22LP20 drive.
