Why am I not getting a pregap on track 1?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to thesoundsmith's topic in ImgBurn Support
Players alway play from index 1 when skipping tracks or starting the first one. If you want 5 seconds of silence before the first track starts, you'd need to insert it into the audio file you're burning. -
You should have listened to it You need to burn it to a double layer disc.
-
Nope, it's not the data. The program is simply sending the 'reserve track' command to the drive with a value for the size to reserve (based on the amount it has to burn). You're well within the limits where the size of the disc is concerned. Commands should either succeed or fail... never get 'stuck'.

Failing on Verification using Verbatim MKM-003
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Malikus's topic in ImgBurn Support
The Optiarc burnt them just fine so I'd say it's more likely to be the drive itself now. It's not even that the liteon did a bad job on the overburnt one, even the normal burn (that seemingly worked) is pretty awful. -

That drive can't overburn. -
There should always be a way for people to (relatively easily) exclude files or totally disable protection for a defined period of time. I know that's what I do when I need to run something that my AV is unhappy with. As they're deleting anything that uses opencandy platform (not specific to ImgBurn), it's opencandy that need to sort things out with them really. I don't understand why they auto delete something (ImgBurn setup) that uses something (opencandy platform) that can offer a 'potentially' unwanted program. It's like deleting all websites that use Google Adsense. Goodbye half of the internet! Surely they could devise a better way of dealing with it?

Failing on Verification using Verbatim MKM-003
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Malikus's topic in ImgBurn Support
A non shrunk version would certainly be easier to read. You can see that the error rate on the 2nd layer is very high though, that's why it's unreadable. I doubt it'll make a difference but you could try enabling the 'Perform OPC Before Write' option in the settings and see if it helps the drive learn how to burn the variation of MKM-003-00 that you've got. I'd be interested to see a scan from the disc you said you burnt a non oversized image to. -

I already said which discs to get - 'MKM-003-00'. Or going by their branded name, Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL. Just make sure you get the proper MKM-003-00 MID/dye ones and not the value / cheapo range. It's all detailed in the pinned topic at the top of the forum and linked to in the pink box at the top of each page. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 It's not technically the same problem as you've had different errors from 2 drives. But I guess both come back to them not being able to burn the discs nicely. -

Discs are made in different places, so just all being 'MKM-003-00' doesn't make them equal. You can also get good and bad spindles. It could also be your drive isn't good with the oversized images. Try scanning the disc with kprobe (at 4x speed) and post up the graph so I can see it. -

That error isn't an interface related one, it's telling you the drive can't read the disc. I expect if you did a disc quality check on it (using kprobe, cdspeed, dvdinfopro etc) , you'd see high error levels - which ultimately is what's making it totally fail and report a read error. -

You could try the 8L0A firmware update. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAS124%2BD/files.html Clear the drive's OPC history. You may need to try another spindle of MKM-003-00 discs. Get them from a different supplier. Settings wise, you're using what's always worked for me on several drives, so there should be no problem there. -
HOW TO BEAT OPENCANDY - EASILY! (when installing ImgBurn)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Surveyor's topic in ImgBurn General
Verify mode will compare against an image file if you have one. Beyond that, it just checks every sector of the disc is readable. You'd have to examine the graph data file to look for any weird slowdowns in order to see if the drive had trouble reading it (but was able to recover and therefore no errors were reported). -
ImgBurn hangs when burning Windows 7 installation disc (bootable)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to PHD's topic in ImgBurn Support
Your drive must be busy doing something. Defragging, virus scanning, downloading etc. It'll just sit there waiting until it's less busy. -

It looks like your drive produced a bad burn on those discs. Can you try with MKM-003-00 media? -
The layer break selection screen only comes up for DVD video burns on DL media. You're just burning a data disc really.
-
If you could copy + paste everything in the log window when it's at the point where the drive is meant to be reserving the track, it would help. If others are working ok, I can only assume it's a size thing and you drive can't handle what's being asked of it and it isn't returning an error, it's just freezing (that could also be driver related).
-
You can only do that for Build mode and it's on the 'Options' tab within the main screen, not in the 'Settings' as such.
-
Doesn't it tell you exactly what to do? I.e. Switch the file system to just UDF? As no conversion takes place, make sure your player supports MP4 files.
-
If you have a working disc, can't you use that? I don't know why the one you're attempting to build isn't working. Copy everything off the working disc to a folder and attempt to rebuild a new disc in the same way you've been doing it. Does that work?
-
Your drive can't see the disc. Is there one in it?! This is nothing to do with ImgBurn.
-
What controller is the drive connected to? You can see in the log that it's potentially a driver issue (or controller issue) as errors are being reported that are probably nothing to do with the drive actually burning the disc. Right click the drive selection box, click 'family tree', close the prompt that comes up and then copy+paste everything from the log window please.

I'm sure the Mac will read iso9660 and udf, even if it doesn't support Joliet. As such, the default settings will work fine.

Post the log please. If it worked ok before, you're using verbatims and have tried cleaning the drive, yeah it's probably died and you should buy a new one.
