  1. Ah VCD would rely on the CCD file for CD-TEXT. It can't mount a CUE file. Obviously if you're manually adding cd-text to a CUE, it isn't going to be in the CCD file.
  2. Yes, the iHASxxx A, B, C, D, E wouldl do the job, as would an Optiarc 5280S-CB Plus / Robot drive.
  3. It sounds like a DMA issue to me. Read the FAQ.
  4. The first track in a session always has a 2 second pregap on a CD. I'm thinking that warning may actually be wrong... as the pregap starts from a negative LBA (-150 and time 00:00:00) on the CD disc. That said, my 80 minute CD-RW isn't quite 80 minutes long. Free Sectors: 359,847 Free Space: 736,966,656 bytes Free Time: 79:59:72 (MM:SS:FF) So you should be able to burn a wave file that's 79:59:72 long - ignoring any warning that it might not fit on the disc.
  5. So you're getting the 'end of the world' message? There's a guide on how to deal with that in the Guides section of the forum.
  6. Only if you happen to be building images that are larger than DVD+R discs. DVD-R are a tiny bit bigger you see. If you go over the capacity of a DVD+R, you'd need to burn to a double layer disc (or a DVD-R if the image can fit on that).
  7. Enabling opc has never been a make or break setting for me during testing. It's sometimes useful if your disc deviate from the 'norm' for that particular MID, and enabling it can help to get a better quality burn overall. It can also make things worse though. I think you're just lucky that it seems to have given you a way to get working discs. You certainly shouldn't *have* to enable it.
  8. It isn't compliant with the DVD video specs and may get hung up on some players when the drive reaches the later break position. Are you trying to burn a video_ts folder or an existing ISO image file?
  9. Try reading the disc in another drive / machine. Some are better at reading than others. Give the disc a good clean and tell the program to 'continue' reading when it brings up the message box telling you there's been an I/o error. That'll at least give you an image of as much of the disc as possible. The unreadable bits will be zero filled.
  10. You should only need to edit the cue file and add title / performer info. Which program are you using to mount the images?
  11. There's no malware in ImgBurn. You're potentially offered 3rd party apps during its installation but you can opt out of installing them if you don't want them and take 5 seconds to read the screens.
  12. Xgd2 burns also fail? Sounds like a faulty drive then. I'd only tried the 4L04 on my iHAS124 E.
  13. It depends on your OS. Which one are you running? There's post in the FAQ that covers most DMA issues. If you're worried about your hdd, run the test suite provided by whoever manufactured it - check their website for one.
  14. Sounds like a DMA issue to me.
  15. It should be making a BIN file. The IMG one only comes into play if you've told the program to generate a CCD file - and then it has to be IMG for Virtual Clonedrive etc to read it. You can't store multiple tracks in an ISO file, they're only for basic images and ImgBurn only reads the full disc. You can't just extract the data portion.
  16. Your drive doesn't appear to like those discs or at least not the 2nd time around. Did you try and use the same disc again after the first failed attempt? Technically, the first one didn't really fail, it errored out exactly how you'd expect an attempt at overburning a DVD+R DL to fail. Buy the correct drive if you want proper burns.
  17. By default, it retries 20 times when it encounters an unreadable sector. Try again tries again Continue skips to the next sector Cancel cancels the entire read operation Your log shows you attempting to read a CDROM. AnyDVD is for movies, so I'm not sure why you think it would be able to help you with that disc? Apologies if I missed something, you posted the entire log rather than just the bit where you were having a problem.
  18. I assume it makes the drive verify the sectors on the disc and check they can be read (or perhaps written). It's probably a variation of the drives auto verify when writing if spare areas are enabled. It would probably have doubled the total time it took.
  19. That just means your drive doesn't support doing full certification - hence why it only took 24 seconds for the drive to do its thing.
  20. That's still exactly the same error with exactly the same drive and media.
  21. All I can suggest is that you clear the drive's OPC history and try again. You don't need to change the layer break setting off 'Calculate Optimal'. It's designed to work properly on that (default) setting and it'll read the correct layer break position out of the .DVD file. If it still doesn't work after cleaning the OPC history (make sure you tick the 'Verify' checkbox on the screen where you burn the image), post another complete log showing the burn+verify bits. Have you tried another spindle of discs? Do yours say 'Made in Singapore' on the tub?
  22. Post the burn log please. If the disc is unreadable (which it is), you must be using the wrong drive settings or something.
  23. Sorry, I didn't have a chance to look at your log yesterday. I have now though Try updating the firmware on the drive to v1.66 http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1931-file_BWU-500S_1.66.zip.html How many of those discs have you actually burnt? Can it burn single layer BD discs ok? You could try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc to see if that makes a difference - especially if it's worked ok (several times) with the same MID discs in the past. If it keeps failing on the 'VERBAT-IMd-000' MID discs, you may have to try some different ones... or buy a new drive that doesn't have a problem with the ones you're using now. p.s. You can update the firmware on your other drive too... http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1717-file_GH22NS50_TN03(ew).zip.html
  24. Post the burn + verify log from ImgBurn please.
  25. Yes, it'll be due to the codecs on your PC... and maybe the exact format of the mp3 - size of any id3/metadata tag, sample rate, stereo/mono etc.
