Burning software image files - power calibration error

Ubuntu lets you get right into the OS... but maybe there are different versions of the download? -
Burning software image files - power calibration error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Crusader0071's topic in ImgBurn Support
The idea trying the Linux Live CD is to rule out any potential Windows issues. If you get the exact same error when trying to burn under Linux then it's got to start looking more and more like a hardware problem. -
Feel free to update the file to 1.0.0.7! 1.0.0.5 will not work properly in the new ImgBurn.
-
ImgBurn is a burning tool, it can't demux stuff. You want the Doom9 forums for this kind of thing, not this one.
-
Yes ImgBurn can erase DVD+RW.
-
You should update ImgBurn too.
-
That's a DVD+R disc, not a DVD+RW one.
-
I asked for 1 thing when I told you to make a new post and you seem to have forgotten it. There's even a little yellow chap getting hit over the head above you because of it.

Pioneer 216DBK + Verbatim = Successful ratio 50%
LIGHTNING UK! replied to fantastli's topic in ImgBurn Support
Where are the Verbatims made? India, Singapore? If it won't even burn to those with any sort of reliability, send your drive back as faulty. -

What do you see (folder / file wise) when you open the disc in explorer? -
ISO from Music CD > image file error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Glucosurfer's topic in ImgBurn Support
An ISO file is supposed to be for Mode 1, 2048 bytes per sector data. Everything else belongs in a BIN file. I don't like forcing things on users of my program but they should respect the defaults when they don't know any better. -
DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL? Where's your log? Make a new thread if you have a problem and include all that info. Make sure you verify your burns.

ISO from Music CD > image file error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Glucosurfer's topic in ImgBurn Support
You made an ISO from an Audio CD? Why would you do that? ImgBurn knows to set the extension to .bin so let it do its job. When it's finished you'll have a BIN file and a CUE file. Load the CUE file in Write mode and it'll work fine. -
No 2 drives are ever the same and perhaps theirs is cleaner.

Thai Language file (more translation in Thai)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Thammaraj's topic in ImgBurn Translations
frmSettings -> GENERAL_ShutdownAction.Items needs fixing in your one. The base file has 7 entires, yours only has 6. Please note that GENERAL_ShutdownAction.Text MUST match one of the entries in GENERAL_ShutdownAction.Items *exactly* The 'pinned' topic in this forum about 'base file differences' should be used to spot problems like this. -
Thai Language file (more translation in Thai)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Thammaraj's topic in ImgBurn Translations
My point exactly. The one currently on the 'downloads' page is incomplete. If you think you've done a better job then I'll put yours up instead. (in fact, I probably will anyway) -
Spanish Translation (International Sort)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to jaad34's topic in ImgBurn Translations
When I said it's 'not quite right' I was talking about missing bits... not that it doesn't translate very well. I look for common faults in the translation before uploading (2 key points in the 1.0.0.7 vesion) and this one failed. You can change it as you see fit. Just follow the guide that I mentioned at the top of this forum. You don't have to start from scratch, you can load this one up and just tweak it as required. Of course a translation should really be done in the original intended style... so making it 'easier to understand' probably shouldn't come into it. btw, there is no english.lng, it's known as the 'base file'. -
Just because your friends drive supports them doesn't mean your one will. Your drive is supposed to support that media at 4x, 6x and 8x. You burning at 2x won't change that... it'll just burn at 4x anyway. Try again at 6x and 8x. If all else fails, http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

It all burnt and verified ok so I can't see an issue there either. RITEK don't really make good discs at the best of times and DVD+RW are not a reliable as write once media (DVD-R / DVD+R). Avoid using them were possible.

v2.4.4.0 is the latest version, you need to upgrade. - www.imgburn.com Then update your drives firmware too - http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_522-file_b7w9.zip.html

It's the zeroing part that took 5 hours - which is basically just writing sectors full of zeroes. That's how long a normal burn of files/and image would have taken, it's exactly the same process. Full certification is supposed to make the drive test each and every sector and build up a new defects list. Obviously that didn't happen if that part of the format/erase only took 2 minutes! Best of luck with the GGW-H20L, that's the same drive I have It'll still like you more if you use Verbatim media though... oh and please don't waste your time with the supplied LG disc (assuming it's still using the LG dye), it almost always fails to format/burn.
-
Are you English? If so, talk/write in it please. By default the program will appended to the log file (not overwrite it) so just look at the top section of it.
-
There is no Lead Out in the log is this normal?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to AngelFeather's topic in ImgBurn Support
I normally display it in the log exactly as it's named in the MMC specs. Sync Cache is the actual command you send to the drive when you've finished 'writing' the sectors. What the drive does exactly when I issue that command is its business and not mine -
Personally I'd give up. The drive obviously doesn't like that dye (TDKBLD-Wfa-00). Try one of the other BD-RE DL ones instead - from Panasonic or whoever. It's odd how your drive won't perform Full Certification properly on the media. That part should take an hour or two, not a couple of minutes. Writing to the disc shouldn't take 5 hours though, that's awefully slow.

Seems we have our wires crossed. I thought you just wanted to prevent the box from popping up and just go straight into the burn... and for that you'd use the /ERASE switch (which on a DVD+RW doesn't really happen because the sectors are simply overwritten). What you actually want is something called 'multi-session' (adding to an existing disc) and ImgBurn doesn't support it. So basically, you're out of luck. btw, the 'Don't Prompt Overwrite Media' option is the same as using /ERASE via CLI. So anything you've used it on will have been totally overwritten with the new image/data.
