IF you start playing with Dual Layer discs, only use Verbatim , NOTHING ELSE . its proven in the forum that Verbs are the only ones to bother with -

The Memorex and the Office Depot discs are one and the same, as they both have the same dye/ink ( highlighted above) suprisingly, the only 1 that worked for you , the Philps one, has CMC-MAG dye/ink, which is probably the worst dye you can get . be warned that this disc may become unreadable in the very near future, because the dye disintigrates very quickly ! ( this is due to the poor quality of the dye they use . so watch you dont lose any data back ups you make on these) recomendations for good media are verbatim and Taiyo yuden . but do look thru the drives and media forum to see whats been tested and is any good , Drives and Medis forum link Burning an image isnt much mroe differant than burning Data. its more a case of finding the best discs you can that your writer will recognise and write to . often updating to the latest firmware for the writer will increase the amount of discs that the burner will recognise and write on to. -
bytes isnt a case of dividing by 1000 to get Megabytes . a 4.35gb( according to file properties in windoze ) iso ( from dvdshrink) is actually 4,681,396,224 bytes. wait for the guvner to explain simply why this is , but your 4500mb file isnt the same as 4,500,000 bytes so it has not "grown" in size ...........sorry dont know about clone, but set your overall file size to 4350-4464mb with shrink , as if you go larger, you risk burning to near to the edge of the disc, and with low quality media it affects playback

Yes , if its the same dye used on both brands .Could be your writer doesnt have a firmware write strategy that can handle these discs/dye have you tried any other discs off friends , just to eliminate the dye on the discs you have already used ? most laptop drives are replaceable, BUT usually at a crazy price . if your considering changing , it would work cheaper to buy an external writer ( providing you have USB2.0 or Firewire) Shamus , whats a "Hoon" ? -

after reading sonys claims carefully in the first post, ive drawn the conclusion that . yes, PS3 exists, it IS better than anything youve ever seen before of coarse you wont be able to buiy one in the Uk in time for xmas ( just like other PS releases) despite what we said about having 2 million units available for world release launch date.unless you pay a bonafide distributors extortionate costs ( becaus ethye had to airlift 10,000 in from round the world to meet demand tehres 2 models so when your cheaper one screws up, we can blag you into parting with more cash for the better model . sorry Sony, but been there and done that before .........THREE TIMES !!!!! , PS1 and PS2 and PSTwo , NOT falling for it again
