Why is such a problem if the program defaults it to bin/cue instead of iso?
The program knows whats on the disc and sets the image target format according.
Probably this time the disc was written in a way that the iso container is not apropriate (multisession).
If you want an iso of that disc use Build mode and point the source to the root of disc.
Are you using the latest version of the program?

What is in that ISO?
If it is Video DVD you can use DVDShrink to make it fit on a regular DVD.
If it is something else you should use a Double layer disc.

Modern players support both standards (PAL/NTSC) and some can play the avi's
Unless your player can play avi files, you need an authoring program to make a standard DVD Video out from that file than burn the result with ImgBurn using this guide http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632
Look for DVD Flick or DVD Styler, both free authoring programs.

Shouldn't be an image file that you burn to disc instead of files/folders?
Use Write image file to disc mode and point to the image don't extract the content, the image file should already be bootable.
You are using an outdated version of the program, please update.

Why do you want that? Doesn't your player support repeat?
On the asumpption that you want it as Audio CD it's enough to add it once and activate repeat on player.
Alternatively make more copies (temporary) of that song with a number (001, 002, 003...) in front or at the end of the song name.

You can only use ImgBurn for the burn part. ImgBurn is a burning tool and burns the files "as is".
So, you need to prepare the files in the correct format for what you want to achieve with other tools. Only than ImgBurn can do its magic.

Yeah if you want the quality preserved as much as it can be, you need to recapture in DV.
If you are familiar with Movie Maker, yeah, you can use it just make sure it will output DVD. I don't use it so don't know what it will be: VIDEO_TS folder or an ISO image.
Movie Maker is a DVD authoring program just like those suggested in my previous post. If you want a paid one (why would you if there are free alternatives?) look for ConvertXtoDVD.
On a double layer you can store more. Using standard compression a single layer will hold up to 2 hours and a double layer will hold up to 4 hours of footage.

If you do the transfer through FireWire (IEEE 1394) you could use DVIO http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVIO to capture and don't lose quality two times (once in wmv than transcoded to DVD video)
DV avi through FireWire is the highest quality transfer mode and perfect for capture and edit, wmv is low quality, even DVD is lower than DV avi due to the compression applyed.
More, if you want to edit (cut out some unneeded scenes) you can use VirtualDub http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Virtualdub
You need to instal Panasonic DV Codec http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Panasonic-DV-Codec to be able to import DV avi in VirtualDub.
Last step before burn is to convert the file (after edit) use DVDFlick or DVD Styler (Google them).

Note that it requires a lot of space to store DV avi ~13GB/h but it is the highest quality possible.

Don't be affraid to bump the speed up, it may get to the end. You can also try Taiyo Yuden CD's. Most of the time is some firmware/drive/media incompatibility.
Chances are that your drives being old and don't know the new media.
Try cleaning the drive lens with a lens cleaning disc (if you have access to one, don't waste your money on it) or manual if you know how.
We need a log to investigate more. You can find old logs via Help menu.

ImgBurn don't convert anything it just burns "as is".

There is nothing different from burning any other image file to disc.

Also post the info from the box on right with the disc in the drive.
For .mds I'll let you use Google to find youself. You can disable the creation of .mds file in Settings.
