  1. And nothing but the log! Regards
  2. Check your DMA, firmware and drive. New firmware here (your is several versions behind). Regards
  3. You couldn't have mounted the ISO as a virtual CD drive with Daemon Tools? Anyway, if the firmware didn't help you, try new blanks. If that is no good, try to clean the drive. If that is no good, buy a new one. Check that DMA is on, too. Regards
  4. The rating on the LB has to do with the layout of the disk, which is dependent on the authoring. You can't make them better without changing the authoring of the DVD (one way might be to eliminate unwanted audio languages - this would make more room). More space left on the disk will afford more choices (excellent is when the break occurs right at the start of a VTS or a title). In practice, don't worry about this. Regards
  5. You answered yourself in post 1. Buy some Verbatims - they'll be better. I run this exact drive and have not had a bad burn. No use flogging a dead horse. Regards
  6. Or use the Tools --> Drive menu Regards
  7. Here's your problem. A little searching would have told you to get only Verbatim 2.4X dual layer blanks (MKM-001 MID). The inferior blanks some shop assistant has sold you have errored out on the edge (where they are most likely to burp) Regards
  8. What I was getting at is after burning, in order to verify (if you haven't checked verification already), you need to switch to verify mode. But you need an ISO to verify against. Regards
  9. And check to see if your drive can support DVD-R Tools --> Drive --> Capabilities Regards
  10. I keep saying that notwithstanding their lack of statistics, the LGs are mighty fine drives. Regards

    no seek

    You just did BWAHAHAHAHAHAAH Regards
  12. One thing making an ISO first enables is 100% verification later on. Otherwise, you will have verify errors in the filesystem due to date and time. Regards
  13. AFAIK, you gotta close AnyDVD and remove it from the system tray. Right click and choose exit, or whatever. But if you have done this, your verify issues are probably due to poor media (eg IO errors are due to not being able to read a sector properly). Verify errors in sectors which are covered by the IFO files (especially VIDEO_TS.IFO) will be caused most likely by AnyDVD. Regards
  14. Smerk - check out some of the prices on http://www.i-tech.com.au/ They aren't bad. Go for an LG or a Benq drive (I prefer LGs - they are just soooooo reliable). For example this one is A$53 EDIT - I see Chewy has found a cheaper supplier!! Regards
  15. Try playing your disk in a mate's player. Some standalones can be very picky. Regards
  16. More than should - it is a standard in the specs (at least for R1) Regards
  17. If you build an image now from the existing data, there will be some verify errors connected with time and date issues in the filesystem (first 500 or so sectors). Generally, these can be ignored. But the data verifcation - especially where you have issues round sector 2,000,000 - should be non-existent Regards
  18. It would be an interesting addition. But the user would still need VobBlanker or DVD Remake Pro. But at least they'd know where to start their splitting. Anyway, wondering if other suggestions helped MacWorld. I think swapping the VTSs over will do the trick. Regards
  19. Consider Headac3he or (my preference) BeSweet. Regards
  20. Yes, we need to see the PGC structure before we can advise you how to split cells. But this thread may be worth reading in the meantime. Another (easy) thing to try might be to re-author the titles in different VTSs. In DVD Shrink, just invert the 2 titles. Or even easier, in PgcEdit, use the function DVD --> Remap titlesets (and swap the presumably 2) VTSs around. Save and try again. There's a guide to remapping on the PgcEdit site (written by a complete idiot). Regards
  21. Anything less than years can not be called "yonks". http://www.askoxford.com/results/?view=dic...earchtype=exact Regards
  22. And then pray that the cells do not need splitting Regards
  23. One of the worst blanks on the market. Killed Ritek's reputation. As usual, get Taiyo Yuden or Verbatims and you'll be right. Regards
  24. Sounds like yer in Syndey mate. I heard they had 5" of rain yesterday! Bloody hell. I have had LG burners for yonks and have never had a bad burn. They are damn reliable IMHO. I wouldn't worry about 8x DL speed, cos the best blanks around are still the MKM-001 Verbatims at 2.4x. As for Ner0, I would pay a premium for them NOT to bundle the bloody thing with my new drive :D Regards
  25. And next time please post a log. See the help menu. Regards
