First, get high quality media - Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens are the only ones we recommend.
Second make sure your firmware is up to date.
Third, ensure DMA is on for all IDE channels.
If you have a bad burn, post your log (accessible from the help menu).

One other possibilty:
I found that if you have a home wireless network and one of the PCs is not responding then it searches for a bit (seems like a minute) before responding. Normally, if all PCs on the network are responding, it takes less than a second to be ready for action.

Good enough for a draw. The idea is in answer to my threats of invasion and/or takings the f and b pawns, your K warbles around on c6/c7/d7 covering the b pawn and the important 8th rank while the B plays on the d6-f4 diag, but where you played is sufficient.
Draw?

Good move! Stops me from invading your back rank.
Just muck around for a bit to see if you really understand. End game is the hardest thing to practice.
Re2
And, yes, it's been fun. See how easy it was to turn a loss into a win? Or at least a draw.

Just download the firmware update to the desktop, and run it. Don't have anything in the drive when the firmware is updating. It's really simple.
Got nothing to do with floppy drives.
