  1. To add to what LUK! has said. If you burn a disk, then make an ISO and verify against the ISO, you'll find verify errors in the first few sectors. These are all time and date related (typically sectors 16, 32, 261 and 269). However, the sectors after the filesystem will (or at least should) show a good burn. Regards
  2. You could try to hex edit it out with something like Hex Workshop. Regards
  3. Interesting POV, spinner. I agree - soon, optical media may be a thing of the past, as we store movies on memory sticks and play them through USB ports. No scratches, fingerprints or lasers going outa whack. Can't be far off from becoming the norm - just need the price per Gb to drop a bit more for these jump drives. So, I'll be holding off buying insanely expensive HDVD/BD players (in any event, a dual format one would be a necessity at the moment - as opposed to a media centre PC plugged into the home theatre system). Regards

    birthday wishes

And I've missed for 2 days corny. Please accept belated felications from me and Firey. Regards
  5. Well, right now, you got a couple of extra clicks to do. Original disk in drive. Read mode. Green button (makes ISO). Put blank in drive. Select ISO. Green button. Can't say that is hard or inconvenient, can you? Regards
  6. It can't read the source media (the Table Of Contents). Regards
  7. Taken the others back, unopened. Tell the store, they are shite. Check for firmware updates via the Tools - Drive menu. Regards
  8. This forum is not about conversion. BUt you can google either DVD Flick or SUPER, both of which are good. Regards
  9. Press F8 (IO Debug). Regards
  10. No, just burn away. But ensure your firmware is up to date and you are using Verbatim +R DL disks (MID MKM-001) Regards
  11. Well, that's the thing with iffy media. They are iffy. Sometimes they works, other time no. Cheap? Sure but if you throw away one out of 2, then maybe not so cheap. Plus they degrade faster. You may find really cheap media is gone in under a year. So, go to a reputable store (or online) and buy the suggested disks. If you wanna see the many tests we have done here, go to our Drives and Media section. Regards
  12. Guess your drive's current firmware doesn't support that media at its fastest rate. But chuck the media out anyway - it is inferior - and buy Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Regards
  13. And the toilet flushes counter clockwise, too, down here volvo! Regards
  14. Switch your media from RitekF1 to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Lower your write speed to 2x on USB 2.0 (1x for USB 1.1). Check for firmware update. Use build mode (see guides) - no need for ISO. Regards
  15. LOCO They burn just fine. Throw some petrol on them and light a match (it's what they're good for). Regards
  16. Reason here is the autocalculate, I think. It computes the smallest disk necessary to cnotain your data. If 5Gb, it moves up to a DVD-9 and says you have 4 Gb left. If 4Gb, it will say you have 0.37Gb left (ie a DVD-5). Regards
  17. Well, those MCC004s should be recognised at 16x Chewy. Regards
  18. Good for you. Now post a log so we can see what's going on. Regards
  19. That write rate is not supported by the drive/media. Also check for firmware updates. That media is rated 16x and LG drives know it. In fact, that firmware is not listed. Try 1.02 here. Regards
  20. Like IFOs. Create them with IFOEdit but doi ensure the VOBs are DVD compliant (size and mux) Regards
  21. The Dr Evil one in LOCO's last post was hilarious. Regards
  22. Post a log please. Regards
  23. I just loved the title of this thread ... Yeah. Buy a new spindle. Regards
  24. Helluva bird dog job. (Where's that clap hand smiley?) Regards
