Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those discs are far from precious... Buy Verbatim and only Verbatim for DL backups... Please post the entire log also. Here is the firmware for your burner, but it doesn't indicate being OEM Dell so post the rest of your log before attempting to flash. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

Check your DMA settings. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=967 No need to start multiple threads for the same problem.

I believe that Plextor's allow for overburning via Plex-tools....additionally, not all plextors are actually plextors.

TDK uses Taiyo Yuden?

Firmware for your drive is way overdue for an update....1.22 from here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2369 Get yourself some decent discs such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden...might want to get some DVD+R's as well and booktype them for increased compatability, I suspect your Blu-Ray drive is spitting these out for compatability reasons. Your burn and verify were successful, the disc should be fine but your other drive doesn't like the outcome.
-
Modified firmware would fix that anyway...wouldn't it? Especially since L&D have gotten ahold of it.

Open, Not Finalized - Disc Not Empty - After successful burn
LOCOENG replied to ArNolDs's topic in ImgBurn Support
The kiss of death As chewy stated look for Made in Japan on the label...the exception would be Verbatim being as they are made in Taiwan. So where in the world are you? These brands can be found online if they aren't available locally. -
DL burning problem. 100% then dead..., and I/O error.
LOCOENG replied to legacy's topic in ImgBurn Support
Imgburn should actually be more reliable since it is seeing support whereas the latter isn't. -
I've been seeing alot of those days here lately... The sata config would seem to be the difference.

After setting LB in Build it fails in write
LOCOENG replied to Neil Wilkes's topic in ImgBurn Support
No...build mode eliminates the need to "build" and then "burn", it can be done all in one step with no consequences. -
That is pretty impressive chewy...how are your HDD's set up? Must be a beast of a machine, a lean beast at that.

LOCOENG replied to ArNolDs's topic in ImgBurn Support
Yep and the dude at that other forum gave you some bunk advice on the Verbatims... -
So you will be keeping this drive? I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just had a firmware update recently too, so it is still seeing support.
-
...and it was successful as well. The missing bits could be resolved by looking at your ripping method or your authoring method...We can't talk about the ripping and this board isn't about authoring. Why? I agree with LUK...the problem appears to be your standalones.

low audio sound levels after burning VIDEO_TS files
LOCOENG replied to kelse's topic in ImgBurn Support
Also make sure that you aren't removing the correct audio track when preparing your movie for burning...not all devices can utilize DTS, but AC3 should be highly compatable. -
Can't go wrong with Verbatim...wouldn't spend my hard earned money on anything else.

Retry Failed - Logical Block Address out of Range

Thanks spinner...somehow you always forget about google when you (I) are the one with the questions. Pinnacle, my camcorder software will have to go then....pah! I have had trouble with the AnyDVD filters before so I may remove them as well. -

I know what where the AnyDVD and GEAR drivers come from, but what, if any program is the ASAPIW2K associated with? -

Retry Failed - Logical Block Address out of Range
LOCOENG replied to LOCOENG's topic in ImgBurn Support
I realize that and all the hard work that you put into your programs is much appreciated. I'm trying not to sound like an old noob when I say that this combination of burners and media has worked in the past without errors or problems....I also know that trying to track down the root of the evil can and will be hard, but then BenQ is a better drive IMHO and I'd like to get it to where I can use it for whatever media I throw at it again. When I get a chance I'll post the filter drivers log and see what is going on in there. TBH I haven't ever taken a look at any of those problem posts to bother learning what is going on there. Recently if I don't know what the problem is by the title of the thread I don't bother looking at it, thus reducing my learning curve...so I'm a bit behind the times if you will. -
Retry Failed - Logical Block Address out of Range
LOCOENG replied to LOCOENG's topic in ImgBurn Support
I'll do that when I get home, maybe in the next day or two. I didn't search for cd rom handlers, but WMP was the only thing that looked like it may be affecting the drive...I tried killing the process and it would just start back up again. I'll look a little deeper into all this and get back to everyone. -
Retry Failed - Logical Block Address out of Range

Well I got a successful burn with the NEC, but still error out on the BenQ....I get the same unable to unlock for exclusive access error on both drives. What might be causing this? -
Retry Failed - Logical Block Address out of Range
LOCOENG replied to LOCOENG's topic in ImgBurn Support
LOL....I tend not to upgrade until the need arises, but I guess there is a need now. Thanks boss. -
Something has a hold of my drives and I don't know what it is....Verb +R DL, firmware current for both BenQ 1655 and NEC 3540a. The first warning was the typical "unable to lock drive for exclusive access", which I went to Process Explorer and killed WMP...this was the only thing that would have tried accessing my drives. The BenQ would spit out the disc immediately, so after two tries I put the disc into the NEC and it burned the first layer just fine but failed on the layer break. Selected the best layer break location and checked seamless playback. So where am I now? I 10:58:05 ImgBurn Version 2.0.0.0 started!
