  1. You only have one speed to play with 2.4x and it looks as the burner doesn't like that media at all. I would try with Verbatims. But the burner was released 2005 and might even be a bit to old to deal with the 8x rated Verbatims.
  2. There are two types. One that can play some sound checks and one that just cleans the lens. No need to buy the first more expensive type.
  3. A full log would help more. I think your burner is to old to deal with "cheap" DL media. Another supported write speed might help.
  4. It will play but you face the issue that the layer break is in the middle of a scene where you don't want it. Especially if your player is of an older model and does a hiccup while changing layers.
  5. That is regular non printable discs. Still more expensive at that place for the discs that the he/she wanted. 164:66 kr for a 50p.
  6. If the log indicates that it's burned + verified without errors it should be ok. I wouldn't let DVD Shrink create ISOs for burning onto DL media as it can't handle the layer break properly. Better solution is to to let DVD Shrink output to a VIDEO_TS folder and then build + burn that folder with ImgBurn. That way you can select and set the layer break properly. The Imp field is just a note of which program that created the ISO file and doesn't impact the burning result.
  7. In the Settings of ImgBurn, tab Build, page 2, select the option 'Don't Prompt Image Details'.
  8. Ordered there several times the last years and no issues with shipments. They also have a nice support forum.
  9. Full-face printable -R 50p Verbatim is 142:61 kr + 70 kr in shipping costs = 212,61 kr = 4:25 kr/disc http://www.sweburn.com/product.php?productid=18&cat=3&page=2 Schenker delivers to a grocery store or a gas station near you in 3-4 labour days. If you add additional 34 kr you can have the delivery to your door step with DHL. http://www.sweburn.com/home.php (Click on the Swedish flag in the upper right corner and you get the prices in SEK).
  10. If I had been you I stayed with that burner you have and get discs from outside of Sweden instead. If you bought those Traxdata in Sweden you can get high quality Verbatims for less money including shipping costs and avoid feeding Mr Borg with tax money. If you bought a 50p Traxdata at Clas Ohlsson you paid 369 kr = 7:38 kr/disc Price abroad for a 50p Verbatim is 118:44 kr = 2:37 kr/disc If you place a small order you can add 90 kr in shipping costs. Still cheaper even if you just buy one 50p spindle.
  11. Those logs are just showing that you started and closed the program several times.
  12. I would mount the .iso with a virtual drive like DVDFab Virtual Drive http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm and then use build mode to add the VIDEO_TS folder and pick a new layerbreak and burn it to a disc.
  13. You have QucikTime associated with the file endings for the files on the virtual drive?
  14. What's the name of the brand of those discs you are using? The setting OPC:
  15. Looks normal for a Nec/Optiarc writer. It "stops" the burning from time to time to check/calibrate the laser so it writes as good possible on the media. You also see that the buffer drops down to zero during that time. OPC shouldn't an issue to enable for that burner. You can find that setting in the Write tab in the Settings.
  16. When you selected 2x, you still got the 4x write speed. Some burners are better to burn at a higher speed like 8x than the lowest one 4x.
  17. These are the supported speeds with that media Tried 8x?

  19. No. There is OptiDriveControl, but I still feel like it's still in beta and there is no final % number of the quality score. My crashes happens when another program tries to "steal" the drive from DVDInfoPro as that program doesn't lock the drive. It was not so much fingerprints & Co, more that the burn was perhaps "crappy" at those places it made sounds and it had an issue reading it. The size and quality was just if there was a common line on the level of the quality of the burns depending on the sizes. I hardly ever scan not fully filled discs as I use the Discovery mode to test & scan.
  20. Hej! Can you post a log of one of those burns with 2.5.1.0?

  22. Never experimented with MediaCodeSpeedEdit and swapping strategies. It was common when I had my Nec 1300 and that gave mixed results. If it should give you crappy results, it shouldn't be any issues to reflash it with another firmware again. Never had any flash issues with a Nec/Optiarc. DVDInfoPro is pretty easy to get to crash. Optiarcs are much better readers than Lite-On drives for scratched/dirty discs so it makes sense that it can read what the Sony rejects to read. The noises could be where it has problems reading and should then give a red area in the scan. Any feeling that the level of high scores in the scanning could be affected on how much/little it was burned on the discs? (How much GB it was put on the disc)
