  1. That media code is for Verbatim, so it sounds as "rebadged" discs.

  4. Hi! Could be a rebadged Nec. In that case you need to fix the firmware or use the Nec settings in the book type function I guess. http://club.myce.com/f44/2-dead-liteon-ihas-124-a-277684/
  5. Sound as an issue with your chipset drivers. Could try this page to see if there are any new ones to install. http://www.ma-config.com/
  6. My own Optiarc SlimLine 7700 burns best at 2.4x rate. I get the feeling that such burners performs best at low speed.
  7. The only thing that I can think of is that the quality in those Verbatim DL spindles vary a lot.
  8. Advanced -> Limits -> ISO9660 -> Allow more than 8...
  9. 1. The 7240 can burn ok with that media 2. The Sony can scan ok. The Q is just what makes it look crazy with DL media.
  10. You should have used lemon disc liquid as the citric acid is essential for a good result.
  11. Never did a scan on that disc as I had no scanner at that time. Think it was in the now deleted thread were you changed the Average Disc Queue Length values.
  12. Once burned a disc and made it so the buffer recover message showed up during the whole burn and I couldn't find any playback issues on that DVD Movie disc.
  13. The TYG02 disc I burned is not a genuine TY disc, It's an Aone branded disc.
  14. You can just install the new version on top of the new one. If there are some/or all settings that needs to be adjusted the installer will inform you about that.
  15. 1. Nec based Optiarcs are better readers and I think that's why they show more green than the red stuff with Lite-Ons. Just look at the posted scans in this post. 2. The DRU 3. If it was a DVD Video you should see some disturb ions while you watch the movie at that spot. 4. I would burn a regular SL Verbatim disc to find out how such a scan looks This disc was burned with my Optiarc 7200 and gave these results if I scan with my Lite-On or the Optiarc 7200. (My 7240 is currently removed from the computer).
  16. Can you post the full log?
  17. Looks more as there is a problem with the connection on your USB connector. Something made it disappear. Conflicting program that uses the USB at the same time?
  18. Can you switch to read mode and post the info in the right window under Disc Information? (just copy and paste it)
  19. DVD based LGs have some type of reading speed lock that you can remove by using MediaCodeSpeedEdit. Not sure if this tool also works with firmware from Blu-ray based burners.
  20. DVD-RAM is a special disc format and not much used today. The 10p spindles I got are from Taiwan and very nice. No idea where those are made as it's not stated on the homepage. They want € 12 for that package. You can get the same package for € 9.99 at this place http://www.sweburn.com/product.php?productid=2&cat=5&page=1 Those discs at SweBurn.com are made in Taiwan and works very nicely burning at 8x with a 5240/7240 burner.
  21. Is it the 2.4x rated Arita +R DL ones? The Optiarc 5240 is the same as the 7240 except no support for DVD-RAM burning. I think your old burner was a IDE connected burner. You have SATA connectors?
  22. The question is how you are going to play the final DVD. Some older standalone DVD players doesn't support .avi files so you need to convert them first to DVD Video files. One free program. http://www.dvdflick.net/
  23. I would go for the cheapest one under most bought. What media are you going to burn with it? Cheap/High quality brands?
