  1. Yet another post with log from crap media but says the same thing happens with Verbs. Do yourself a favour and buy another writer and use verbs @2.4x
  2. See those 1"" smaller disc's are back.
  3. There will be a boost volume level in your conversion program.
  4. mess on with the sound settings in your dvd player, from spdif pcm to raw etc or mess on with downmix. As above it has nothing to do with ImgBurn and more to do with the conversion and your DVD player.
  5. Wonder if you could pay with virtual money ?
  6. Try some better media.
  7. change media , see if there is firmware update to drive, try DVD-R. Change media again if you substituted poor media for other poor media. Try some Taiyo Yuden, or Verbatim ty media or mcc.
  8. LOL Only just noticed this topic has had 400+ views, that it was started in APR 07
  9. Acer Flash util and GRS6.bin use at your own risk
  10. It has nothing to do with ImgBurn. change program your using or recheck options in program your using.
  11. post a log / help / ImgBurn logs
  12. for ImgBurn and shrink .....google. you could burn the hvd as data (store on dvd) but would have to copy it back to hard drive at any other time you want to use it with circle.
  13. None AFAIK Verify mode is if you keep ISO image then later wish to check integrity of data on disc after wear tear in say 4 months time. Always wise to verify the data at time of burn really
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile_Disc
  15. Open the drive and have a look
  16. Long time no see Cynthia. Check Hard drive Iso is stored on for errors(file system option not scan for bad sectors), Defrag the same hard drive afterwards. What was program your were installing, did it have anything to do with storage/ or install any driver for ide controller or an I/O operation Suppose you could raise buffer a bit. If writer and ISO/C: share IDE maybe change that so are on seperate channels. Or stick In SATA hard drive as well.
  17. Time for new media or new writer your choice.
  18. try a CD cleaner If still the same and your laptop has USB 2 then get an external USB writer or build your own with enclosure and writer of your choice but search on here first for semaphore timeout errors.
  19. Or take it back to Walmart and tell them you want a new one from them saying as you bought it from them and not MS and do not leave store until they give you it. Make sure you speak in a loud voice but do not shout unless they really piss you off.
  20. I searched on google for the interface firmware , no luck. I was however being distracted by a pair of beauties.
  21. Sony's naming has always been slack as the drx comes under dru as well (check out their site and rpc1) like download that firmware from link you posted and it will be dru 820ul Edit I also notice rpc1 say then link however to Sonys site is dead
  22. change media drive does not like it. where did you get the firmware for that drive as device in ImgBurn is being reported as dru820a - firmware revision for that is 1.0c Is that drive a Sony usb product or did you put the drive into enclosure yourself ? Or have you somehow managed to put the 2.0b firmware from a dru 820U / L into the drive(if so might be broken now) or is it a dru 820U / L ? If the drive is a Sony DRU 820U / L then there is a new firmware for it 2.0d Also over usb slow down your burn to 8x
  23. try with 2.4x instead of max
  24. if you look after it yes
  25. Verify the disc against ISO with verify mode in ImgBurn The 10/100/1000 will drop to lowest speed of other networked computer. The laptop hard drive will not be as fast as desktop variant so If you have to burn over network from files stored on laptop try limiting speed to 4x and see how it goes if still the same drop to 2x if the disc's support write speed of 2x
