LOL you have replaced crap with more crap, only a matter of time b4 you regret that. Get dvdinfopro and scan the Aone discs, you will be lucky to get 60% quality score. Can see why with them being very cheap but no quality

4x is the only write strategy for those disc's with your burner so you cannot burn slower with any software. The media you have is hit and miss and no decent quality control over what they put into the cake box. If your serious about using dual layer and wanting to at least stand 99% chance of being able to read it back / archive and know the data is good then buy verbatim 2.4x

worked for me in the past when something I recorded on my liteon 5006 home dvd recorder gave up that error in dec or IB, maybe I am mistaken and I ran it thru ifo edit/ vobblanker or pgcedit.

I meant 4200 I thought 4.2gb would be OK with you mentioning the warning of 4200 but 4 gig is the limit you could look for software that uses ISO 9660 Level 3 mkisofs springs to mind

That error as mentioned above happens a lot of time with usb2 enclosure chipsets. Resulting in a 4 way conflict. Drive/ Usb Enclosure Chipset / Usb Chipset / SPTI You could change the drive in the enclosure to another brand (this might fix it) might still do it with the other drive If your using an add in card for your usb 2, try using the motherboards usb ports. Change the I/O interface in ImgBurn from SPTI to Wnaspi32 Tools/settings/I/O [latest version of wnaspi32] ftp://ftp6.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll Get the older version as well http://rapidshare.com/files/57649191/WNASPI32.rar You need wnaspi32.dll to be placed in the ImgBurn folder if ImgBurn says not found copy it to system32 folder. You might need to experiment with the above and sort of mix it up to find a combination that works. If all the above fails try and get the elby I/O or the Patin couffin one. (make sure the writer in enclosure is set to master) and thats about all you can do apart from buying a new enclosure with a different chipset but with no certainty that the new chipset will get on any better with your current writer or any future writer you buy. Try and get an enclosure that uses Prolific PL3507 and a Pioneer 111 or 112 Should be OK as thats what I am using (however that is in combo with my motherboards USB chipset)

FORMAT then Install XP then install chipset driver/ gfx driver. If it still does not work scrap your computer. It really should not be hard to do that. [edit] I don't mean a recovery install I mean a proper XP install disc

Norton ghost and make a ghost image it runs from dos from boot CD local partition to image is the option to choose when you want to save (best if you have your hard drive partitioned) and local partition from image when you want to load it back up. If done wrong you can wipe your hard drive. (make sure you choose correct hard drive to make image from and right hard drive if you ever have to load ghost image back in) Check your pm in about 4 minutes [edit just read the post above missed it somehow] Depends oh how you have your hardware set up. take one of my systems for example. [using 80 Wire IDE cable] on all hardware [1st] hard drive [partitioned][PATA] On IDE 0 <Master> (lots of time this is Blue) with DVD ROM drive connected as Slave [2nd] DVD Writer[iDE] On IDE 1 <Master> with 2nd Hard drive[Partitioned] [PATA] connected as Slave This way I can Read ISO from the DVD ROM drive(slave) to the 2nd Hard drive(slave) the fastest It can be done.(separate IDE channels) (I then process _ts to DVD-5 ISO) from 2nd hard drive IDE 1 to the 1st hard drive IDE 0 (fastest) Once ISO is stored to 1st hard drive IDE 0 Write from DVD writer Master on IDE 1 (Separate IDE channels) With Data coming from IDE 0 (fastest) Add to this mix some SATA hard drives then you can read and write to any other hardware you have pretty much the fastest your system can handle.

Check your computer for virus and malware , use your virus program and get spy bot search and destroy update both to latest then run. No way is ImgBurn forcing you to change drives you must have a faulty couple of drives or your system is way too corrupted. Operating systems should be Installed about every 6 months I choose to do it every 3 months or even sooner but I have also left them for a year and had no corruption that stopped me from running anything. Then again though I know what I am installing.

It will be down to your source files. ImgBurn is not an encoder and needs DVD compliant files Which yours are not. Please see a post further up where a program called tmpgenc was recommended or find out what file extension you are working with then search google for Whatever your file extension is to DVD. eg avi to dvd - wmv to dvd etc. When you figure that bit out get some better media to burn to than the ones you have.

No I meant what I said when you tried to burn with ImgBurn and you hit a problem there would have been information below ImgBurns main window this is known as a log file. you then click on edit and saves as and save log file to desktop this is a text doc so open it and select all text and tight click copy then click on add reply in forum and simply right click and select paste. maybe change your IDE cable or remove the controller from device manager reboot and have windows pick up devices again
