  1. It was me giving your mobile a dodgy
  2. write speed max If your using wireless forget that and choose 2 or 4x max (2x would be best choice) even then you may struggle 10/100 choose 6x - 8x (better choice would be 6x) If you have 10/100/1000 you can do 16x all day and 88 meg free memory is terrible
  3. Yes foto2avi is pretty straight forward add photos choose transistions and if you want music playing when done press gear button
  4. In most cases yeah. (F6) drivers are diff to the nvidia ide drivers though in the sense you may need the sata driver at f6 but do not have to install them after windows goes in
  5. You might just have a bad batch, better off trying something of quality though eg Taiyo Yuden 8x or verbatim media
  6. drives are so cheap now even people who are bankrupt can afford em. Liteon or Pioneer If you can avoid Sata drives in favour of PATA (IDE) then all the better.
  7. I have the same chipset on a couple of my mobos and I never use the nvidia IDE driver's as they are far too much trouble sometimes than they are worth and no disadvantage to using just plain ole ms drivers. I was going to buy one of those samsung drives then forgot. Wonder who sells em the cheapest in UK and delivers via city link or other than royal mail.
  8. Are you using nvidia drivers for IDE/SATA or just MS default ones also how have you got SATA assigned in Bios. B4 messing on would be better if you had some other media to try like Taiyo Yuden TYG02 or Some Verbatim with MCC code And your def not using sata 5,6,7,8 edit maybe try them at 8x
  9. Have you got any other media to try with it. Which motherboard do you have ?
  10. Verification is an important part of burning, If you drive is not capable of reading back the data it just wrote it indicates media problem burning problem or the drive is poor at reading back that media. You could try and verify the data on the disc against the ISO in verify mode in ImgBurn[a drive other than the writer] to see if that drive can read it back if that one also fails then the data written is not good. You should maybe consider buy a recent DVD writer as well as yours is getting on a bit now and probably won't support the latest media at all
  11. Now Ic why you mentioned cdfreaks. (never spotted the A8V bit in your post) I also notice he is returning drive for PATA.
  12. cds are far too cheap to even care.
  13. very slow for a 16x burn as well. see if there is an update for your sata controller or check how you have it configured in bios or in relation the the actual sata port your using on the motherboard.

HD content looks better on LCD over plasma anyday to me At 6ms(on my 42"" or lower even at 8ms and 12ms.(my 19"w lcd tv,s) Plasma might do better for SD content Eg football in Standard Definition. I can use my 42""LCD at 1920x1080 for Pc DVI > HDMI (1080p). I also use it for xbox 360 @720p over component and 1080p for Ps3[HDMI] and 1080p for my Elite 360 via HDMI and the Ps3 looks Stunning (cannot really see any difference between 720p and 1080p on my xbox 360's. Every plasma I have seen looks a little blurry under PC useage.

Alter I have a 250 sata drive in usb enclosure working fine Format it to FAT32 (you will need a tool to format a drive this size to FAT32 as windows will not let you) There are a few tools but this one is free and def works http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm Make Sure that any folder you create on it is in CAPS files inside these folders any case will do. If you find you cannot find media you know is def on drive then press Triangle and show all on Ps3 controller. What size TV are you thinking about ?

Wow! There is a new Ps3 out 40 gig HD instead of 60 gig. No card reader and 2 less usb ports. £279 rrp £299 The card reader and 2 extra usb ports and 20 extra gig of storage sure are worth the £150 extra I paid.
  21. yes but you would have to re author them using http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/index.html or google dvdshrink
  22. That's what I meant in same folder as cdspeed etc. And as mentioned above its not create disc but disc quality
