Unfortunately David Letterman's statement 10 years ago about TV is also true for the large screen, "We're only here to sell soap", and the ratings boards appear to still be controlled by right-wing religous groups who still haven't realized that forcing children/young adults to stay away from something only makes them want it more.

Again, I have no problem with restricting X content to Y age group. But, to actively remove something before it's made, or after, because someone arbitrarily doesn't like it
I agree completely. Several directors have recently released unrated versions of movies on dvd, as these cuts at theatrical release would have gotten 'non-studio friendly' ratings, such as NC-17. I seriously wonder if these films would have enjoyed any less success with such a rating in the first place, possibly done better? Horror film's are just that, and to tone them down just slightly to appease studio's greed (in fact what they are doing is trying to get children in to see horror's to make more money) is in a way selling out on the directors/producers part IMO. In many cases this is the only way a lot of films see the light of day unfortunately (or dark of the theatre ).

How about "That didn't work the first time you tried, why do you think it will now, Ass."

Flame on?
As you answered your own question on ISO(see below), what exactly are you wondering?
Ive used Imageburn to to burn images (ISO 9660)of authored DVDA (conversions from stereo to mulichannel high resoluton audio 5.1 @ 24/48) and it appears to work very wellTo answer again the question below, as regular burned dvd's are capable of all sound formats you mentioned in your reply, be it 192 stereo, 24/96 stereo, 24/96 5.1 etc, you shouldn't have to change any settings or need any new options. The limiting factor will be whether your player or amp can decode these signals.
-my question is that some commercial burning applications have a special setting for DVD-A--is this really needed? or is there really any difference in settings for DVD-A as opposed to DVD-if so could this feature be implemented or adjusted within settings for program-thanks-- and as I said -it appears to work fine as it is-doccbstAs a owner of various SACD's and DVD-A's, I lament that it's going the way of Laserdiscs. That doesn't change the fact that there are few to no new releases on either format, and stores that once carried such products are not replacing their inventories. On another note, a $100 multi-format player will not give you the audio quality these formats deserve, as I'm sure you know original SACD's and DVD-A's require onboard decoding before hitting the receiver due to their different encryption. As said in my first post, once that encryption is gone your left with a regular DVD over a DVD-A, and SACD's can't be burned at all in that format to the best of my knowledge.

My country is so silly as to have different classifications in different regions. What may be 14 in one region may be G or 18 in another.

Took the ladyfriend and her son to see Wallace... last night, I enjoyed it also. Had a new Dolby Digital EX intro I hope to find on DVD some day.

Home Depot has a "special" Dremel tool for pumpkin carving, looks the biz if your into competitive carving

Halloween is the only holiday where I dress up the house, or to be more exact, the theatre room. To be completely honest I leave all my horror movie memorabilia up year round. Just picked up a replica cinema poster of the original Dawn of the Dead, will find a place for it next to Leatherface on the wall

Very nasty DB. I've eaten a grasshopper or 2 whilst riding motorbike in my younger days, rather crunchy and not very pleasant.

Sounds interesting re the 3540, the 3520 does some excellent burns, Pi/Po scans are very good. Haven't had the nerve to overspeed DL media with the 3520 (it'll do 6X) yet, a bit too pricey to risk a duff disc for me.

To the best of my knowledge there's no difference when burning DVD's whether audio or video. The only real difference between DVD-A and your common DVD was the encryption, and yours is home made so that's a non-issue. DVD-A's are basically cd's recorded at higher bitrates allowed by DVD's bigger capacity, some with 5.1 surround or other hi-fi soundtracks, some with some video, and encoded with a different encryption than DVD's to prevent copying. They're a good idea that didn't take off.

Other than ripping, is the 3540 any better at burning than the 3520 JMet?

Which fuckin' "F" word are we talkin' about?

My sister found a band-aid in her food at a Boston Pizza. Didn't get a damn thing but a free meal. If I would have been there she wouldn't have got anything, as I'd have nutted the chef.

I've heard of some with media codes of SH1TE-001, not sure who makes those.

I sprayed half a can of WD-40 on it, which helped fuck all, but made a fine mess, then I threw it away.
