looks like ur right. In safemode both drives correctly report the MID as VERBAT-ime-00 Yet for some reason they don't in normal boot mode, even with anydvd completely inactive, and that's the only program i have installed that otherwise interacts with the drives, nero and that crap isn't even on my system bd-r--bh10ls30.log bd-r--bh16ns40.log
-
yup, that bd-re-xl log was with a verbatim bd-r inside the drive, a previous one was with a maxell bd-re sl, i do have a sony bd-re dl i can try but since all types of bd are affected, it might not be the drive itself or the media but something on the firmware level.
-
i'm guessing it's the blanks actually. Normal blanks start at the inner diameter these guys' recording layer doesn't start out to be another centimeter further out yet are still be able to hold 23.5gb
-
here's a log from (non-safe mode) for my BH16NS40. Doesn't show the MID either bd-re-xl.log
-
i was just about to ask the same question, but as always i use the search first. Found this exact topic. The LG commands result in that invalid field message, the LITE-ON commands for me give: current setting: unknown (FAILED!) reason: invalid command operation code so i'm probably out of luck?
-
This should be what you need drivescan.log
-
Haven't tried safe mode no, about the controller no idea. Ain't that in the debug log. It does make me think if the speedpatch firmware isn't to blame. I still have the original fw, might flash that one to see if it makes any difference.
-
I'll live with it for now then. I did order a bh16 a while back. I'll install that one and see how that one behaves.
-
here's the only 1 i had time to test. No mid in explore window either, nor on my bh08 (logfile 2) Disktype: see link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disc-25GB-Single-Jewel-Speed/dp/B000IU3Z2C/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1377726902&sr=8-10&keywords=maxell+bd-re don't know if this is a dumb question or not but if it can read the descripters etc & toc, shouldn't it list the mid aswell or is that listed in a seperate part of the non-recordable prefab data? maxell-bdre-singlelayer.log maxell-bdre-singlelayer-2.log

Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format
Ch3vr0n replied to omarbentaleb's topic in ImgBurn Support
If you are really using those, then they're prepacked and fake. That is an official verbatim packaging but verbatim does not use a ritek media code. Return that crap and ask for a refund. The official mid for that type is either mkm-003 or mcc-004 -
The problematic ones are bd-r, i do have a few bd-re's ill see if they work. It's the latest firmware on that and other drives, with 1 minor difference. Speedpatched with mcse. My bd-re's are from a few different brands, I'll see which ones do show the mid if any. I'll post back in the weekend. No time to test till then.
-
Don't think it is the drive because my bh08 doesn't display it either, but ill take your word for it. Is there anything you can do about it. The 2nd link i pmed you did show the mid, or am i just gonna have to live with it?
-
Indeed. I don't know if you had the chance to look at the logs. But the information window still does not give the mid. I saw myself in the log something about "invalid request" perhaps that ill have something to do with it. Can't remember it ever having worked from me

Attached with anydvd running but inactive (imgburn.log) Attached with anydvd not running at all (imgburn2.log) imgburn.log imgburn2.log
-
Nope. It's always active for me. During burning aswell. Afaik it can possibly only cause issues with verifying (which i never do anyway). I'll give it a shot when i get back from work in about 5hrs normally. Doubt it will work though.
-
as requested imgburn.log
-
kk that solves 1 thing, now all i need is an answer to the MID part.
-
So here's the thing. I know i've got quality verbatim BD-R discs. My shop has never let me down. The thing is i can't seem to find the actual disc MID in IMGBurn. According to the changelog it should be easily visible. Well it aint for me. I insert a blank, go to explore mode and this is what i get. No MID present. Also. Say i want to install imgburn on another machine and i've configured it just to my liking on my main rig. How can i configure it exactly the same on the other rig without having to swap back & forth between both machines and (un)check where needed. Is there some file like "config.ini" or something where imgburn stores user settings that i can simply replace on the 2nd machine and presto? identical settings?

Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...
Ch3vr0n replied to holygamer's topic in ImgBurn Support
If the files that you are burning to both drives reside on the same harddrive that is likely the issue. The data can't be fed fast enough to both drives as the drive continuously has to skip from 1 hdd sector to another for both drives. Solution only burn 1 disc at a time. -
Half baked translation * The field for "close program" (Programma Afsluiten) is too long for the assigned space. Its only partially visible as "Programma Afsl.." * Under info on the burn screen the correct translation into context of "Copy" is not "Kopieer" but "Kopie" * don't know if this is translation error or program error but they key combo for eg log sais "Ctrl + maj + Q", that's french not dutch. Should be "Ctrl + shift + Q". Same for "Ctrl + Mag + L" for log and thats only 2 min's into using the new version. Wouldn't surprise me if there were more errors in it. as i suspected. There's more of em * "Clear System Error" does not translate to "Fout bij herstellen" * "Drive" does not translate to "speler" * "Performer" does not translate to "Inzetter": Attached is the proper translation with others fixed aswell. Will do a complete review this wknd dutch_netherlands.lng

IMGBURN does not do what it is advertised to do
Ch3vr0n replied to toolman_fixit's topic in ImgBurn Support
Video_TS files don't exist. Video_TS is a FOLDER that contains vob, bup and ifo files. Those files make up the dvd. That works just fine here. Burning such a folder is easy. Select the mode "burn folder / files to disc", drag the video_TS folder in it and hit burn. All done -
Selecting multiple folders for bd is easy. You probably know a bd only needs 2 folders. The bdmv and certificate folder. I just select the root folder that holds them both. Say i have a ripped bd called "mymovie" and the folder that contains the bdmv and certificate folder is thus also called "mymovie" structure looks then as followed. Folder: mymovie Subfolder: bdmv Subfolder: certificate Simply drag the "mymovie" folder into imgburn. It'll detect the bluray structure and will ask you if the "mymovie" folder is the root. Say yes "because it is" imgburn will do the rest.

True, but honestly I'm a bit angry at this too but won't stop using it. The question is, why include that crap in the first place? Cant you atleast swap it arround and set zxpress mode to the non-toolbar and AV crap and advanced to install that stuff?
