Welcome aboard Jim.

Why not save us from playing 20 questions and post a log like the pink bit on top of this forum asks for?

W 14:22:26 Write Speed Miscompare
The W is a warning, it's there to alert you, the user, that something is not going to work as you had planned. I doesn't necessarily follow that there will be a fatal error on the disc.

(Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x)
You can't burn at 2.4x, your drive only sees the quoted speeds.
Try faster burning and cleaning the drive.

As 2009 draws to a close I want to wish everyone here in the ImgBurn family a Happy New Year and see you all in 2010.
-
Btw can you advice me a tool to shrink the files on the iso please?
Google is your friend on this one.

Look for a newer firmware for the drive.
Clean the drive.
Replace the drive with a full sized in an external enclosure since laptop drives are known for their lack of quality.

I 19:12:31 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: MCC 02RG20) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x)
Additionally, the line quoted from your log shows what speeds your current firmware uses for your choice of media.

File a complaint with ClickBank as they are the ones that process your card information for the asswipe selling ImgBurn as a ripper. If they do not issue a credit to your card, appeal the charge to your credit card issuing agency when your next bill comes. Do not wait any longer than your next billing or you may be liable for the charge even though you were a victim of a false advertisement scheme.

Also, when is the last time you defragged the HDD?
-
I suggest there should be an option in 'Settings' to decide whether to display all writing speeds or only the ones that are supported
I'm not the author of the program, however I don't see much use in displaying any writing speed that the drive can not burn at. Wouldn't that muddy up the clarity of what is available to the user?

Buy Verbatim media because your blanks are junk.
Like it or not, they are going to fail you eventually anyway. Ritek hasn't made quality media for at least 5 years now.
-
I would look at the player for failing, or maybe your authoring program, since the burn is not verified I can't tell more. Maybe do another burn and this time verify the burn.
-
Google might be your best bet for that pursuit.

said thank you for your help, you didn't need to go on and on about how you could give a shit..
Sorry, must have been writing while you were posting.
My attitude is simply a reflection of your own, I didn't ask you to be a smart ass (Post #7 and/or post#9). You gave the attitude, I answered with mine.
That's how it works.

A simple question which I don't think my log has to be posted
And since this is in the pink bit at the top:
Make sure you include a copy of the program's log in your post. And since mmalves wrote:
Of course we wouldn't have to guess if you actually posted the log.And since my crystal ball is on loan to the local gypsies this month for their annual Winter festival...
Why don't you post a log and help us to help you?
-
Jason, get a grip on yourself dude.. No one here is trying to do anything but help you with the problem that you have posted about.
My drive must be junk...I need this slideshow burnt like yesterday...so today i drove 100 mile roundtrip b/c this town has no Verbatim dvd'sNow my drive will not read them 'medium not present' This lightscribe drive is like 4 years old, must be junk...
Yes it's junk, firmware and the drives physical make-up have changed in the last 4 years and yours is now out-dated.
why are you excited that i have bad dvd drive that has only burnt one dvd in its lifetime...I could give a shit less about how many copies you have made in a lifetime. If your drive will not burn to Verbatims, it's undoubtedly shot and needs to be relaced.
what are you spinning wheel...the forum police? it wasn't a double post...Nope, not the cops, but isn't this the same problem you posted about a few days ago?
-
Yup, it's junk...and...why are you double posting the problem?
-
While it was burning the drive would slow RIGHT down and then really speed up
Why not post a log of the burn?

I enabled OPC. And suddenly it would write
OPC allows the drive to 'adjust' the laser as it burns for best performance, I leave it on all the time as the drives manufacturer designed it for that purpose. Your discs are still middle of the road at best. I strongly suggest that you invest in either Yaiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus and not have to worry about the quality or longevity of your media.
