(Disc ID: CMC MAG-D03-64)
They may work fine for your friend, but they are among the worst discs manufactured right now.
Since the drive is brand new, checkyour firmware and give this
http://forum.imgburn...?showtopic=8000
a try as LUK suggested.
-
Since you cleaned it and changed to Verbs and it didn't work, I would suggest buying an external USB 2 full sized burner to attach to your laptop. Slim-line drives are not the best for long term use.
-
Thanks for letting us know what worked for you
-
Buy an external full sized USB2 drive, internal slim-line drives are known for their poor burning.
-
ive tryd what you suggested allready as i looked round the forum and there was a sim thread, were that was mentioned.
i still had no joy.
Then it really looks like all you can do is replace the burner I did a quick look around and didn't find an updated firmware.
-
Are you verifying the burn, your log is not complete.
-
Your media is junk, read this please:
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
Also check your firmware for update.

In order to burn several copies of data at the same time you will need to open several copies of ImgBurn and have each opened program burn to a different drive. This is not recommended as the amount of HDD I/O activity necessary to run several drives is really hard on the system and its' components. Use the Que function and burn one after another.
-
Post a copy of the log please.
Do a deep scan of your system for virus and malware, there is nothing in ImgBurn that would affect how your machine opens programs.
-
Can you start off by posting a copy of the logfile? It's just a pain in the ass to try to guess what happened without eliminating issues that the log data brings to the table.

In addition to what mmalves wrote...
1. Your drive is over 2 years old now and that's pushing the life of a DL burner pretty near the edge of the cliff and Matshita isn't known for its' dependability to begin with.
2. ImgBurn makes a copy of what you tell it to, it doesn't play with the data, so like any other computer data, garbage in-garbage out.
Refer to mmalves post again at this juncture.

In your software engineering class didn't they also instruct you that :
1. You can't please everyone, so make changes that affect the largest user group and let the inconsequential ones go, since changing code in one line may tend to affect code a couple thousand or hundred thousand lines later which will create a problem that may affect the whole user group.
2. If someone threatens to leave your donationware product and use a retail bloated inferior product in order to get what they want...let them.

Read the pink bit at the top of the page and post a logfile, we can play 20 questions all day long and not get to the info that is contained in the log.

I've fixed the initial problem but I don't believe one exists for the 2nd issue, sorry.
I believe this pretty well answers what he is willing to do...
Of course, the author can choose to ignore this and make the users of ImgBurn's lives miserableVery good observation. I'm sure that if the Boss decided that the problem was shared by enough users that he would have a look at it when time permits, however I don't believe that one thread about a problem that is not shared by many users and has generated so little commentary on here qualifies as a major problem. It's more likened to the fact that you want his program to do what you want it to...and I've never seen that tactic work here before.

Just a minute later, I wouldn't call it slow at all
That's 'cuz I can't type worth a damn.....

I 19:02:51 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: UMEDISC-DL1-64) (Speeds: 4x)[/quote]
That's why your drive burns at 4x, there is no 2x for it to follow in the MID.
W 19:32:01 Failed to Write Sectors 1926208 - 1926239 - Reason: Unknown (Vendor Unique) (ASC: 0x80, ASCQ: 0x04)W 19:32:01 Retry Failed - Reason: No Seek CompleteYour discs are not very compatible with your drive.
Read the pink bit at the top of the forum and follow the instructions, pay attention to the one about media.
EDIT...Damn...too slow again...
-
Max;
Welcome to the forum.
Niceties done now...
Did you read the pink bit at the top of this page? Probably not since you failed to include a log of the burn attempt and also didn't search or read anything else in the forum about your percieved problem.
Discs work at whatever speeds they are supposed to according to the MID. Yours won't burn at 2x because the lowest that your drive sees them as is 4x.
Notebook writers are invariably junk, you might want to invest in an external full sized USB 2 one in the near future.
There are a lot of posts available about this, and many other Wii problems, that you can access by using the little button at the top right side that is titled...wait for it...
SEARCH!

Your drive is kinda old now, I would suggest that you replace it if it can't burn the Verbs successfully. You can also try cleaning the laser head and/or try to locate the earlier 4x Verbs.

W 12:50:06 Write Speed Miscompare! - Wanted: 2,770 KB/s (2x), Got: 5,540 KB/s (4x)
The only problem you have here is that you asked for 2x and the slowest it could b burned is 4x...not a big deal since you cannot force speeds on a drive, they do what they are programmed to do within their firmware.
I would suggest that you refer to Google and look for a site that specializes in Wii stuff and see what they have to say about that particular disc as ImgBurn is not creating the problem you are experiencing and that's as far as we can go on the subject.
If you sort it out, post the solution in the chat area so others can get an idea as to what to do.
-
The log shows that the disc was burned and verified correctly, so the problem is with your process and not with ImgBurn. Use Google and learn how to make an appropriate backup of your current disc and then use Google again to find out how to make your machine recognise it as a game and not as an .iso file.
We do not assist with any ripping process nor do we assist users with non ImgBurn issues, which yours is.
-
If I go to the store and buy an external drive like an HP for example will it write the files onto the disc?
If the new burner will support the crappy discs that you have, yes
I
22:25:56 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2.4x)...if it doesn't then the obvious answer is no.

Good ideas mmalves...
'-boot-info-table' support in ImgBurn 2.5.0.0?
in ImgBurn Support
Posted
Did the disc burn verify by ImgBurn as being correct?
You didn't post a logfile so I can't tell from here....
If it did verify and there are no problems with the burn, why did you post this in the ImgBurn support area and not in our chat area since it obviously does not deal with ImgBurn support but rather what you want to do with Hawk's programming.
